Thanks for the reply, Baloo. I just sent off for my FOSS notes, do you know how long they normally take to arrive?

About 30 - 40 days, a recent set took 37 days.
It is so variable at present, so there are no solid answers.

Hello brin,

Did you get the response of your CAIPS notes? Do they give clear picture of our case? How can I order CAIPS?

Waiting for your reply..

Thanks

Hello!

I just have a couple questions about CAIPS notes.

On November 8 my husband received a request from the Canadian Embassy asking for him to resign and submit IMM5406. Which he did a couple days later and the Embassy would have received it on November 18 according to UPS. So we would like to order the CAIPS to see whats happening since it seems they are actively working on things. His file has been with the Embassy in Rome since September.

1.) Are we able to request the CAIPS more than 1 time? Since its still early on in things I'm assuming that the CAIPS wont have a ton of information yet. Since it takes 30-40 days to receive them we want to apply now in the chance that he is called in for an interview sometime between now and 30-40 days.

2.) My lawyer told me to apply for them now because the Embassy requests them to be either mailed in or brought to the interview. Is that true? It seems odd that they would ask a person to bring the notes that they wrote……

3.) Whats the difference between CAIPS and FOSS?

Thank you in advance! And sorry if my questions are stupid. lol.
Katie

1. You may request it as often as you need to, I know of no limit placed on the request.

2. Highly unlikely he will be asked to bring them to the interview, since the visa office is the one that makes the notes! (I take it this is the same lawyer you had issues with before?) You will need it if an interview is requested as it will give you an idea regarding the VO's issues with the application.

3. CAIPS (now GCMS) are maintained at visa offices abroad. FOSS is the system used for immigration entries within Canada. So, an Inland applicant would request FOSS notes, but an Outland applicant requests GCMS.

Thank you CharlieD! Yes you are correct, same lawyer (AHHHH) ... Thank you for the information!

I ordered caips notes on October 16 but I have not received nothing yet. Why it is taking to much time??

Guys. today I received an email, from caips notes they said CIC wanting to clarify if I am requesting "caips" or "citizenship" I dont understand what is the difference , I want to know how is my sponsorship process, what is missing or when I will receive PPR, but "citizenship" I dont understand, could you guys help me to clarify them please

CAIPS/GCMS notes are the notes made on your visa file at the embassy. Citizenship is very different, that means you are requesting Canadian citizenship. Check the application you made, perhaps there was an error on it?

I sent an email to Caips.com telling them I want to get caips file, but it is so weird CIC know what kind of application are processing for me why they ask me if I want citizenship, I am so confused anyway I will see when i receive caips file.

Dear Seniors

1 - i ordered my CAIPS last year when i was single and submit signed IMM 5475 to concerned visa office without signature in spouse signature box as i was not married at that time.

2 - My brother filled the form IMM 5563B and receive CAIPS in time.

i got married few months ago and submit updated documents to add my spouse in my active application but could not submit revised IMM 5475 form with dual signatures of me and my spouse. now i do not want to submite revised IMM 5475 with signature of my spouse as it will take 15 days to be delivered.

now i am again wana apply my CAIPS to check the current developments in my file i observed that IMM 5563B is revised to IMM 5563E in January 2012 and information boxes of dependents also included in it.

considering the above facts my questions are:

1 - Can i use old form IMM 5563B Instead of new form IMM 5563E?

If No,

2 - if i want to get CAIPS of my file as i am the principal applicant, In IMM 5563E section A, should i also have to write details of my spouse in dependent boxes row , under the boxes row of principal applicant ?

if yes,

3 - can i leave last box unchecked in front of spouse details?

4 - By providing only my information in Section A or by leaving last box of dependent information row " consent included" unchecked will i get complete CAIPS information of my file including all point calculations including adaptability and VO comments etc.?

hope you will guide me as soon as possible

Regards,

Cheeta
