Hello my friends, I'm sponsoring my spouse to come to Canada. I applied earlier this year, in February. Since I live in Quebec, I also had to apply for a CSQ certificate which I already did and already got it some 2 months ago. I recently received a letter from CIC asking me to submit the CSQ, in order for them to proceed with our file. But I thought that the MIDI (Quebec immigration office) was responsible to send it to them. Also, I have an agent looking after my file. I'm just wondering now, whether it is the usual process? Waiting for CIC to ask us to submit the CSQ or should my agent have already submitted it to CIC once we had received it? I would like to know if people living in Quebec and sponsoring their spouses had the same experience or if they submitted in advance their CSQ and did not receive such letters from CIC. I'm not at this point either but you thought right, according to the Guide du Parrainé: La décision du MIDI sera directement transmise au bureau de Citoyenneté et Immigration Canada (CIC) qui traitera votre demande de résidence permanente.

I received CSQ request from CIC on Jan. 30th, I mailed it on Feb. 1st and it was received the following day on the 2nd. On Feb. 12, exactly ten days later, I received a letter in the mail from the MIDI confirming that my application was received. A few weeks later, on Mar. 5th, I received my wife's CSQ in the mail. So when we received the CSQ, the letter clearly said they will forward this information to Vienna (the visa office handling my wife's application). Fast forward to July, over four months later, our application still hasn't made any progress so I decided to email Vienna and they said they never received her CSQ number... so I sent them a scanned copy right away!!!
My biggest mistake was not submitting it myself to Vienna back in March... so confirm with your VO asap if they received your spouse's CSQ, don't make the same mistake as me... good luck friend!

So the consensus is to send a copy of the CSQ to IRCC even if the letter say that MIDI will forward a copy themselves ?
I’m an inland applicant and even though it states that MIDI will forward a copy of the CSQ to CIC we still went ahead and sent a copy to CIC through webfotm just to be on the safe side and they acknowledged receipt of the uploaded CSQ

Hi guys, thanks for all your feedbacks. I called MIDI yesterday, what they told is that they only send an electronic confirmation that the sponsorship has been approved. The original copies (No1 and No3) are sent to us. She told me that it is the normal process to wait for IRCC to contact us and ask for this CSQ. However, then i asked her more about the IRCC process she told me that she did not know since it is another entity. I really question the fact that it is part of the normal process to wait for IRCC to ask us for that. My agent has uploaded the CSQ yesterday (its what she told me in her email) but she has yet to tell me if it is part of the normal process or not. So, I would like to ask you guys, right from the beginning, is there a place where they ask you to upload the CSQ along with other documents? Or we need to wait for IRCC to ask for that prior to uploading it? Because i dont have access to the GCKey. My agent has, and told me that she cannot share it with me because there is the info from other clients in there.
Was there a place where you could upload the CSQ even before IRCC asked for it?

Me too I received the CSQ since May 2018 but I never send it to Vo becaise in letter was written that if VO will ask you for CSQ send it.

how long after you received the AOR did you get the request from CIC to apply for the CSQ?
Did you as the sponsor receive an e-mail or was it a letter?
Could you maybe post the text of that request in order to see what it says?
Did you send the scanned copy via Web form or GCKey?
I have read that it's better to pay the CSQ via Canada Post Money order, a bank draft or a certified cheque instead of credit card? What could be the reason for that? Does the payment via credit card take longer to be processed?
