Can anyone please advice about renting a car for few days in Toronto. I heard there are many hidden taxes and surcharges.
Any idea how to deal and is it safe to take a cheap online deal??

Thanks in advance

They have the best deals that I know of, no hidden fees, etc. I have used them 3 times after flying into Pearson, never had any problems.

Try for HERTZ CAR RENTAL !

Thanks a lot for info.
One more thing i need help , can you tell me what taxes/insurance i need to select from below as i am landing first time.

Collision/Loss Damage Waiver - Reduced Liability:$21.99/day $175.92
Collision/Loss Damage Waiver - $500 deductible:$25.99/day $207.92
Glass and Tire Waiver $39.92
Collision/Loss Damage Waiver -Driver's Choice:$16.99/day $135.92
Gold Card Protection Plan:$8.99/day $71.92

once again thanks for help.

you can try discunt car as well - http://www.discountcar.com/

If you have VISA GOLD card then you can decline the insurance and save some money. If you use VISA GOLD card to reserve the car the insurance is covered by them. Please call the customer service of your card company and get this confirmed before doing the booking.

Agreed. I have never purchased insurance from a rental car company, because I always pay with my VISA card. And if not that, my auto insurance covers car rentals, and the best deductible they can offer is the same as my auto insurance, so I saw no point in paying extra. Definitely check with your card issuer or current insurance to see what they offer before making a decision.

If not that, you just need to decide what you are comfortable with. In my opinion (please don't everybody start hating), some Toronto-area drivers are the most dangerous-crazy-unskilled drivers I have ever seen. They don't understand the basic rules of the road, and cause avoidable accidents.

With this in mind, make sure you have the best insurance you can afford.

Thanks again all of you.
Problem is I have visa card here in my home country not in Canada as coming for first landing. So i need to buy insurance and damage loss waiver etc along with rent a car. what about kids below 5 and 5 + ?? what is rule regarding child seat and booster seat?
can we take 4 seater economy car and adjust 5 in that how we do in gulf or back seat belt is must there?
Sorry for the stupid questions but i am really new to Toronto.
Regards
