I received ITA about two months ago, and submitted the PR documents one month ago.

CIC website estimated 6 months for processing, which is going to be October.

My PGWP expires in October. So there is a chance that my status in Canada expries before I get the approval for PR.

I don't know if anyone has experienced similar timing issue. But do I need to renew my work permit somehow to extend the stay?

Or is there anything else to do so I can extend my status?

Or do I have to leave the country until I get the PR?

Many thanks!!!!

Hey, no worries. You can apply Bridging open work permits (BOWP) before your current WP expires. See http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/work/prov/bridging.asp

Thank you so much!

Any idea how much earlier before my work permit expires should I apply for the bridging permit?

I personally have no experience with the bridging permit. But you can find this thread http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/bridging-open-work-permit-bowp-under-express-entry-connect-here-t272029.0.html

You can apply for BOWP when your WP expires in 4 months or less and you have your PR file in process. To be on the safe side, ensure that you have atleast a month's validity of your WP before you apply for BOWP.
