I'm waiting for my PR based on Quebec Selection Certificate in the Skilled Worker category, application submitted inside Canada. I'm the principal applicant and included my spouse in the application. The application was received by the federal government in November 2012, we were requested medical exams in January 2013, fee for permanent residency in June or July 2013 and his fingerprints in August 2013. However, still no request for passports...
We separated during the last year and I now want to file for a divorce. However, I'm fearing that the process may be very close to its end and don't want to delay it any further by reporting the divorce and asking to remove my spouse from the application. So the question is can I go ahead or should I wait with the divorce until the papers arrive?
Anyone has any experience/advice regarding this?
Also, he has just received a nomination from a different province based on his past employment. If I remove him from my application, would it have any negative impact on his work permit and later PR application through this other nomination??
Thanks a lot in advance for any advice!
