Hello,

Here is my case:

I am living in Ontario/Toronto since 2 years on a PR status through Federal Skilled Worker program. Due to a new job opportunity in Regina,Saskatchewan, I need to relocate to another province. I still have 1 year to apply for the citizenship. My question is how will relocating to another province affect my citizenship application? Can I still apply in Ontario as I am going to Regina for only 12 months and my family will stay in Ontario?

Please help me here :)

It will not affect your application negatively if you move to another province.

Yes I am sure I am still getting the citizenship at the end even when switching provinces. But will this relocation extend the time to get the citizenship? And is it a must for me to apply through Regina since I will be working there when I complete the 3 years requirement for citizenship? My family will be in Ontario so can I apply from Ontario.

I know it is a lot of questions but unfortunately this is my current situation. I have to leave my wife and kids in Ontario and me leave to Regina.

i wont affect, extend neither delay your citizenship. You have to have the sufficient days of physical presence in Canada

Are you leaving your kids and wife just for applying for Citizenship? If so, please do not do it :) it doesn't matter where you are going to stay within Canada :)

Not all local offices have the same processing speed, although differences seem to be getting less dramatic. So if by "affect your application," you mean affect processing time, yes that is possible. You don't get to choose where your application is processed though, IRCC does based on your home address. What is your home address? Where do you consider to be home? Will you have an Ontario or Saskatchewan driver's licence when you apply?

Hi everybody and thanks for the answers.

I will have a contract job in Regina that pays really well for a year.

I do not know about the driver license , because I will keep my Ontario one for sure.

Anyways, as you said, it seems that all citizenship applications are processed centrally in Nova Scotia regardless of your location at the time of submitting the citizenship application.

I will go to Regina and make some extra money though  ;D

Hi.
I wonder if someone can advise me. I came to Canada more than 3 years ago on SINP. since then I have been living in Saskatchewan. My Citizenship period has been completed, but I have still not applied for it.
I have got a Job offer from another province with better benefits and wage. my question is after more than 3 years living in same province who gave me nomination may I move to another province for better future prospects as I tried my best here but I could not find. If I move and apply for citizenship in future would it effect my citizenship process. I will be appreciated if someone guide me.
thanks

Your PNP from SK will not have any implications on your Citizenship application.
CIC will not check what category you got your PR when you apply for your Citizenship
So feel free to move to the province you have a job offer
