Hi guys, I'm on with this form now (imagine steam coming out of my ears).

When you guys say you're writing 1/2/5 page letters, are you doing this in response to Q9 on IMM 5490, or in addition to the answer you gave for Q9?

In our case, Question 9 + the additional info was about 3/4 of a page. For question 9 we basically put a couple paragraphs of info then a point form timeline of our travels with explanations, the additional info was about another paragraph.

As I scan through the various threads on here, I see some mention that both they and/or their spouse/partner have done relationship essays. Is this mandatory? When people say essay are they referring to the question where it asks how the relationship developed?

Just wondering as we want to include everything that will be beneficial. But I see nothing that specifically requests an "essay" in any form of the application.

If we do include essays, should one or both of us write one?

We provided no essay, just point form answers to the questions on the forms. Our marriage is genuine and I didn't really care if they believed me or not, I would just go for an interview or they could spy on our house if they had doubts.

Anyways just my $0.02, as always do what you feel is right.

Our relationship is also undoubtedly genuine. But the fact is, they make a decision based only on the application. They can easily refuse your app if you haven't provided enough proof. This is it!
