But I've seen many I really mean many people saying "Apply paper based application as its faster". I remember a topic was created about that too. So which one is good? I am in dilemma
I believe you are talking about this

There is really no clear answer, it all differs from case to case, so no one should take the responsibility to take that decision except you. But what I think is that online is way faster. By the way, wollyking, the guy who started that topic referenced above got his visa approved in September. In the post he was saying that VFS can be useful to contact the embassy and give details about the application status, and some other services. Well I do not actually agree with that, here's why:
When I tried to call VFS they showed no care or responsibility at all and they only said that "it's up to the embassy, we can't do anything about it" and after I called many times and complained, they asked me to send them an email with my story and they will forward it to the embassy, I did that and they did not reply. I called again and they simply asked me "send another email and we will forward it again for you" I did that and also no response. I also tried the online chat with them and it is even worse. Also, the tracking number they give is a complete waste of time. Since I applied on June 8th, the status only changed ONE time only (on the second day after I applied), it only says under process in the embassy. I also asked them if I can submit my passport before getting the approval just to cut the waiting time for the passport processing, and they also refused that and insisted that I only submit after getting the request...
And here I am, I missed my Fall semester, and still waiting until today. I gave up on getting any support from VFS
