Rejected Visa - Please Help

Hi all,

I received a rejection letter today, and I'm not sure what to do next. Appreciate any advice.

The letter stated the following reasons:

You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay. In reaching this
decision, I considered several factors, including:
......purpose of visit

Other:
....You did not provide transcripts/diplomas from previous studies.

I applied online and there was no option to upload transcripts or certificates. Where do I do that?

Also I'm not sure about the purpose of visit reason. I submitted the LOA from the college I applied to. What do I need to do more?

They did not mention anything about financial status, so does that mean the bank statements and proof I submitted was OK?

can you please give specifications of your case, your profile (Education) and proof of funds and what documents did you send with your application. I too received my rejection of study permit today and my reasons were 1, Travel History, 2, Purpose of visit. 3, Family ties in Canada and Country of residence.

My parents are providing the funds. For proof of funds I submitted:
- bank statements (in parents' name)
- employment letter from their employers
- financial support letter
- savings certificates
- receipt of paying fees to the college

I sent the following documents:
- the two application forms
- statement of purpose
- photos
- copy of passport page
- letter of acceptance

I have a bachelors in visual effects two years ago. I applied for an associates degree in computer science to complete courses I didn't take in university, so I can work as computer engineer in my country. The bachelors was specialised in a sub-field of computer science, and the associates degree covers the missing courses. In order to get accredited in my country I need to complete the missing courses. I said that much in the statement of purpose.

I don't have any family in Canada.

You should have attached your educational documents with the SOP and create the single pdf file for them, that was the technique I used. and on the other hand your profile looks same as mine as my father is sponsoring my study and he has the valid canadian visitor visa, he also visited canada in 2010 and returned during the visa validity. But I think that is the problem they gave me the family ties objection. Otherwise, Good luck If you are going to apply again. I really don't understand why did they give such lame reasons for refusing the visa applications.

I'll attach the transcripts and diploma to the statement of purpose. I'm just worried that if I apply again I'll get rejected. They didn't check off any other reasons apart from the ones I mentioned so I just hope they won't come up with new reasons.

Only submit your application again if you are confident enough that you have cleared all the reasons for the refusal they mentioned earlier. Otherwise you will end up like me, I applied again after the first refusal to just thinking of my objection "you do not have sufficent funds to study without working in canada" and I rectify this by submitting the proofs of financial assets of my father and his bank statement and his investment certifiacates in the companies. But my other minor objections (Travel History, Family ties) remains attached with the second attempt. I advise you to get the GCMS notes of your application to get the exact reason behind your refusal. the letter which they gave to refused applicant is really just a template they just tick something.

I applied about a week and a half ago online. I contacted the VAC and turns out the visa office required more documents than was outlined online. I'm getting all the papers and will apply in person in a few days this time.

Sorry for the double post. I just wanted to clarify something. When the letter said "purpose of visit", what do they mean?

I recommend that you apply Online, because it is defiantly way faster (you can confirm this by calling CIC yourself and listen to the recorded message). According to them, paper applications take 115 days, and online ones take 32 days, we are talking about if you apply within Canada, so international applications take way way more of course. As you can see <== I applied in VFS paper based on June 8th and I already missed my Fall admission and still waiting until now.

The only help the VAC can offer is to double check the documents for you and make sure they are correct and complete, so if you don't need that I advise you to apply online...
