You need to submit the sponsorship application and wait for AOR, then she can apply for an open work permit.

thank you for your response, two quick questions: 1- How long it would usually take to get the AOR, 2- can she stay in Canada after we submit her application(sponsorship application) and her study permits finish? I mean before getting her AOR.

AOR takes 1-3 months. The spousal sponsorship application does not allow her to remain in Canada. She should apply for a visitor record before her study permit ends.

Thanks, man, I am applying now, but there is one question before I can apply when it asks: Are you accompanying a family member who has status in Canada? she is staying with me, her husband, should I answer yes or no? I am on my PR, but when I click on the help button, it says family member who is on visitor, tourist, or work permit! I assume I should choose No, right?
