Regarding requirement of IELTS for study permit

IELTS is not a requirement for study visa if your school has waived it off however the officer needs to be convinced that your English or French ability is good enough to succeed. I did not any IELTs or TOEFL and had no problems, although my undergrad was from the US

Thanks for the info. I am trying to get a letter from the DLI wrt the waiver. However, my concern was the checklist, which has language proficiency as the first item under strongly recommended.

I answered your query in some other post .

Any asset , business documents showing worth , source of funds , bank letter , bank statement , ITR etc go in "PROOF OF FUNDS"


Any document explaining things like , IELTS , property docs , previous 10th , 12th and any education , ties to country like a business or property in your name should go in " CLIENT INFORMATION " where you attach all documents alongside your LOE .

People who didn't submit documents I mentioned above , and thought no need as it doesn't say required if applying online , were REJECTED .

So please , if applying online , submit EVERYTHING .

For non SDS i think ielts is not necessary.

Will you please share from your experience as to whether ONSHORE student requires IELTS for new program in Canada. My son got admission on the basis of IELTS and now he wishes to join next year but his IELTS expired last month.. Whether College in Canada will allow my son to get admission in next program without IELTS as he will be completing one year study in Canada. He is ONSHORE and is bonafide student of a college and his studies being completed in December 2021. He wishes to aply for next program for Jan 2022 intake , therefore, please advise as to whether my son has to retake IELTS or IELTS are not required for ONSHORE student who complete one year study in Canada. Pl advise

Is he on a study permit? Depends on the admission requirements of the college he is attending in January.

I am from India and I have got offer letter from university with Scholarship, TA ship and RA ship. My IELTS was valid during time of university application. My university evaluated it during the admission application. Its validity has expired now. I wanted to know if I can apply for Study Permit with that IELTS (Expired) score

Anyone, please share your similar experience.

there is no IELTS requirement for study permits

its just highly recommended

since your uni has already evaluated the results just upload the expired results with a note explaining and mentioning that your university has already accepted the score
