Lets see... I was a failed refugee claimant and my husband and I married about a month after my refugee claim was denied and filed for sponsorship a few days after... We didn't have any problem with the sponsorship process. We got AIP after about 5 months. We were asked to perform a medical and submit police clearances, which we did. After about 2 months we got a new update on Ecas that a decision has been made and a letter has been sent. I know we shouldn't really get our hopes high but we cant help but assume that the whole thing has been approved.
I know that being a failed refugee claimant can bring some doubts and misconceptions, but if a relationship is genuine, it wont really be too hard to prove it.
