I applied for an ETA because I learned that citizens of the Philippines can apply for ETA as long as you have a U.S. Non Immigrant Visa. So currently I am working in the U.S. under a J1 visa Exchange Program. It is a yearly visa. So my J1 visa expired June 30,2023 so I renewed it for another year which is the DS2019 and expiration will be June 30,2024. So when I leave the US for a vacation let’s say I will go to the Philippines, I need to go to the U.S. Embassy in Manila to apply for a J1 visa again.
When I applied for ETA I clicked on the U.S. Non immigrant visa and typed the visa number I put the date not June 30, 2023 but June 30, 2024 as valid date because it is the expiration date on my DS2019. Do you think this was the reason why I got denied of the ETA?
