Hi,

I applied for my visa/study permit extension a few days back in my home country where I'm back home for the summer holidays. However, I paid the fees by the wrong method (visa) and was then told that visa payment is only accepted for applications made in canada. I have already applied using bank draft payment but I would like to know to whom should I contact to receive a refund? I have not filled in and/or submitted any application forms online when I made that visa payment.

Thanks in advance for the trouble taken to reply my question.

It would be better if you contact Visa company helpline to sort out things.

Dear Client,

This is in response to your email below.

Please submit the green copy of the fee deposit slip along with a cover letter stating your request. This mail parcel should be addressed to the 'Cost Recovery Section' of the Canadian High Commission Islamabad.

A fee refund normally takes 90 working days or more, after which a cheque is mailed for the refund amount.

Hey there ... I need some help myself ... I have a similar problem .. when I sent my application package back in dec 2014 I had two options to choose from 1. Bank Draft or Money order or 2. Paying online through Credit Card. I had opted for option 1 and went to the designated bank which is Standard Chartered Bank here in Karachi , Pakistan. I paid my fees and sent in my application. I received my first email back in Feb 2015 that they did not received my fee payment which WAS included in the first envelope Marked Fees Payment Receipt. None the less I sent my Original Copy of the receipt along with a photocopy aswell and application letter. Now just 3 days ago I get another email stating that the fee payment method was incorrect and that now I have to pay online.

what I need to know is how can I get the refund from the first payment I made whats the process ? and how long does it take to get the refund ?

I went to the bank today and they said they cant help me out as they don't know ... would I have to contact My Canadian embassy here in Karachi ? or call cic and ask for a refund form ?

what is weird is that on my check list that I had sent it clearly stated to send either the bank draft or online payment and now its changed ...

getting stressed out ... will call cic again as I now have 45 days ... and on top of that I have till may 2nd 2015 till the bank draft expires ..

need some help ..
