Hi everyone,
I am convention refugee in Canada and I am getting spousal sponsorship PR. Will this PR allow me to get Refugee Travel Document? I have to make a decision whether to keep my application or withdraw it as I am not planning to ever use my national passport.
I am a bit lost and I would appreciate your advice.
Thanks,

You can get a travel document with refugee status, you don’t need to wait for PR, also you should look into if you can do a spousal sponsorship... the fact that you’re refugee usually means that you apply for pr as refugee

Meanwhile try to book appointment for visa at pakistan consulate if you live in Toronto as I checked last week and there was no appointment available till mid november. Just to make sure have a prior appointment.
Thank you for suggesting it. I just booked an appointment for first week of november. For now, they have sent me a confirmation email. I so hope that I get my Pakistan visa soon. I had called the consulate few days ago, they mentioned that the visa can take up to 6 to 8 weeks. I hope it takes lesser time than that. Do you think it can take that long for the visa?

Yes, I received my travel document and had applied on 29 september as well. I had attached the doctor's note in my application as a reason of my visit. I am hoping you should get your document soon as well.
What kind of doctor's note. Can you please share?
I want to apply for new RTDs for myself and my minor child to be able to travel somewhere and meet with my spouse :-(. It's just so sad! and getting restless with everything going on.

My mother is hospitalized in Pakistan. So the doctor wrote a note mentioning the state of my mother, about her illness, and also her request to see me. So in my application I submitted the doctor's note and my mother's medical reports. It took a total of 20 days from the time I mailed my application till i received the RTD in my mail.

I am happy for you! Thanks for sharing your experience.
But would it be ok for you to go back to your home country or is Pakistan a third country?

Did you fill the online webform first and then got a response from the IRCC and applied for RTD? Or you just attached the doctor's note and submitted your application?
Did you apply by post or in person?
Thanks a lot!
