It is up to the US. If you have a steady job, savings or property, etc will likely make it easier. Not sure if you remained in the US legally for the whole time you lived there but that will have an impact on the approval. Each case is so individual. You will have to apply and see.

I applied without PR. My PR application is still in process. Not whole lot of documents just your ID documents (passport, notice of the decision and stuff) and then you can bring your paystubs and other supporting documents if you want. However, they don't ask for it specifically and neither see them during the interview.
yes you can apply with the RTD , but if you dont have a PR it will be denied automatically. thats the first thing that american ask PR.
That is not true. I got a US visa on RTD without having PR. It could vary from case to case but PR is not a requirement.
I have 3 friend with RTD , and the only one who was approved the USA visa, was the one with the PR ... the other 2 , the only thing that they ask was PR . the officer suggest to wait until they received their PR , to apply again. that was in Ottawa February 2018.

Are your friends from one of the countries banned from applying for a US visa under the presidential proclamation? Because if you're from one of the 7 banned countries then you can't apply for a US visa unless one of the exceptions apply to you (i.e. having a pr card) and still approval won't be guaranteed.

So my husband and I just got our Notice of Decision and we are officially Convention Refugees

It is time to apply for PR, but my husband was looking for a new job recently and he got a job opportunity in Alberta. I reached CIC with a question if we can move from Toronto, ON(where we applied for a refugee protection) to Alberta and the CIC agent said yes, it shouldn't be a problem. But I still don't trust them sometimes as they never know all the answers.
1. Did someone from this forum move to another province right after getting a Notice of Decision?
2.Can you apply for PR in Alberta if you received a Convention Refugee status in Ontario?
Please, those who experienced something like that kindly share

Yeah, you can freely move anywhere in Canada I believe. As long as you keep your address and contact updated it shouldn't be a problem. Goodluck!

Also one more question to you guys. Maybe someone knows or experienced it.
As I mentioned before I'm a protected person now. I haven't seen my parents for 3 years ... I know that I can apply for RTD and travel to Europe to meet them, moreover, I'm planning to do so.
But they have never been to Canada and my dad really wants to come, bcz we are planning to buy a house and have a baby soon and my dad wants to come to Canada and help us out if needed. Do you guys know any protected persons that successfully invited their family members to Canada(just to visit)? I heard that my parents could be denied visa as an immigration officer might find it suspicious. In the officer's eyes, my parents will be coming to seek asylum here as well...
What do you think? Should I try? Or should I wait until I get a PR? but nothing will change when I get a PR, I'll still be a protected person....=(

What if you dont have PR? Can you still travel to thailand just using RTD?
Unfortunately your family will likely struggle to visit Canada for quite some time unless they live in another country that is considered stable and safe or the situation in your home country changes. If they are coming from the same country you were living in they will assume that they will request for asylum on arrival.
Yes, you can. You will be allowed to enter back. However, two things are very important:
1) Your re-entry to Canada is not "guaranteed".
Let's say if for any reason, which may make you inadmissible in Canada, you become their subject of interest, they can block your entry. They then can make you a subject of inadmissibility. They may detain you as well pending the outcome of the inadmissibility hearing. So stay safe!
2) Enhanced document (RTD) verification at all airports.
When you are traveling with RTD, they will stop you at every airline counter, check the document thoroughly, make few phone calls here and there, and then let you go. This process can take an hour or two so make sure you are ahead of your time when reaching the counter.
RTD let's you enter into Canada without any issue, if there is no "issue". PR, however, is a "guaranteed" re-entry into Canada. They may detain or deport you after but at least they will let you enter for sure.
