Hi All,

I just received my RTD through Canada post. I called IRCC several times and every time they confirmed to me they sent my documents through Purolator which is not correct.

If you still struggling to get the RTD. Just send a fax to this number with your UCI number and explain every thing and the status of your application if you know that.

Congrats!

How soon did you get your RTD after sending the fax and what exactly did you tell them?

I called them on Friday 14th Feb. They said already shipped out through Purolator but no tracking number, the same story that I was listening since 2 months. After I hanged the phone with them, I remembered they requested some documents during the processing of my RTD application and I sent the documents through the fax that they provided me.

What I did, I sent a letter with my UCI number on the top of the letter and with all your personal details (i.e. your name, country of birth, address.... etc) and explained every thing since I got a confirmation that my RTD shipped out on Dec 10th 2024 but not receive it yet.

I send the fax on same day. Friday, 14th Feb. Yesterday I found tag from Canada post asking me to go to nearest Canada post to receive a shipment and it was RTD.

I hope this will answer your question.

Hi everyone,
I want to renew my RTD. The first time I obtained it, I did not have my PR card, but now my status is PR.
Do I need to provide a guarantor again for the renewal? Also, what is the best way to follow up with them after submitting my documents?
Thanks for your help!

Yes. You will need to apply from scratch again with a guarantor or you can have a notary sign your application (i did that) if you dont have a guarantor. Join our group here if you wanna discuss more:

my advice to all those waiting (i waited for 4-5 months as well)

Immedietly send the RTD processing office a letter mail (the address should be the address on application form you initially submitted). Remind them that you have applied and its over due and to let you know if more information is needed.

In my case, As soon as i sent the letter my references were called and RTD sent. They didnt tell me this themselves which was so frustrating.

For me, the IRCC agent told me that i was missing family information (apparently a note was left on my file) so i just sent a letter mail with the missing info and my references got a call 4 days later and I got RTD 5 days later. Goodluck and if you need template for mail let me know
Hi! Could I get the template for mail? This will be my second time applying for RTD and the first time I was forced to wait for 12 months. I can't let them do this to me again

Update :

I applied for a new RTD-PR as current expires in Feb 2025.
Oct 2024 - submitted application
November 2024- Called and they said I need new guarantor . I didn't have one so, I used the form from service Canada and got a lawyer to sign it. I sent a new application same day with UPS.
20 November 2024 - Called and they said I need new references , must submit via email provided. I did same day and they fragged application as urgent.
6 December 2024- Called and they said application is in progress, within standard time.
13 December 2024 - Called and they said , waiting for approval.
18 December 2024 - Called and application was approved, CP tracking number provided.
27 December 2024 - Can finally track the application as sent from Ottawa.
30 December 2024 - RTD delivered.

Missed my travel plans but I'm happy to finally get my new RTD with new design. Also, I got my old RTD back as it has US visa.
Hi! Do you know why would they possibly ask you for a new guarantor? Or you didn't have a guarantor for your original second application at all? It'll be my second time applying and considering they made me wait for 12 MONTHS last time, I'm freaking out.
