Hey everybody!
Finally, I am done with my hearing.
I will share my time line with you. You may find it useful.
I applied for my claim on the 1st of February 2012, in CIC office in Toronto.
I did my admissibility interview on the 23ed of February 2012, and my application was referred to IRB office in Victoria St.
I waited and waited and waited. On the 21st of July 2013, my lawyer called and said that my hearing was on the 25th of September 2013.
On the 25th of September, I had my hearing. The board member was a very kind person and I was accepted. The hearing lasted for an hour and a half in IRB office Victoria St.
I am from Syria.

Congrats. u finally got out of misery..am so happy for u cos I also applied the same time with u from montreal but still I have not received any single note about my hearing date. When I talk to my lawyer she wil tell me have patience but it's too long s time for not knowing what next to do..hope to get my notice soon

You need to call the IRB office and ask them about your hearing. If they say that it is ready to be scheduled, then you need to call your lawyer to schedule it. This is what I did. I called them once a month. Do it and let me know.

Yeah after waiting for 18 months my hearing is set for 2nd week of January.

i applied in oct 2012 in toronto so far nothing from irb....seems to me still backlog going...this harper govt. is sucks...dont ever vote for conservatives...they r against immigration...have close almost every door.always vote for liberal if u want ur immigrants relative to come here...trust me.

I'm guessing it went ok , but I haven't received my " notice of decision " yet , it's been 5 weeks since the hearing . Early last year, a friend of mine in Montreal got his "nod" letter in just 3 weeks , but it was a negative one.

i know one friend in Toronto at work place he came last year feb 9 2012 his hearing took place first week of october 2013 they hold the result...and on dec 17 2013 he receive letter...case rejected...he appeal now...lawyer ask 4000 for apeal...poor man...
