Hi All,

I am going to apply PR very soon and collecting required forms, have to ask my employer about arranged employment letter which includes all the desired clauses(job , no of hours, total salary, work profile, designation, NOC,duration of employment etc...) needed by CIC.

do I need to ask some separate letter as 'Reference Letter'?

Please suggest.

you just need a letter which confirm you worked under skilled category (0, A , B NOC codes ) for at least one year in last 3 years. Call it whatever u want .

if you are applying under CEC and your experience is from that company YOU MUST HAVE a reference letter it says that you have worked with them from-to, in X position, hrs salary, duties, etc...
if the same company is offering you to prolong your contract (or give you a permanent position if you get PR) they can add the info to the same letter
if it is an offer from another company, put both in your application

It cannot be an offer letter, it must be a ref. that is, it must confirm what you have done when, not what they intend(Ed) you to do.

jsm is right, just make sure they include what you have done, doesn't matter if they call it arranged employment

You do not need an Arranged employment letter if you are applying under CEC, all you need is a reference letter stating the points as mentioned in CEC documents checklist.
Arranged employment letter is usually for prospective candidates who are seeking PR thru FSW or other Provincial programmes who are not in Canada yet.

All the very best for you too, I'm on July list, my application was received at Sydney on June 28, but I don't think they did something with it because it was the Canada day long weekend, if you want to follow july applicants go here http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/july-2013-applicants-join-here-t154408.105.html

Good point, you don't need arranged employment letter.
Just a curious detail here...When I started to see what you need to apply with CEC, a friend of mine and I started playing with the "come to Canada wizard" and even when you select CEC, there is a question about arranged employment, and... with some combinations, the final answer (if you are or you are not eligible) was different depending on if you have or not an arranged employment letter.(Wondering if they are going to ask for it in a future?) But I don't want to create confusion or getting someone paranoid about it, is just a curiosity...So I remark...WE DON'T NEED ARRANGED EMPLOYMENT LETTER just a REFERENCE telling what you have done, duties, position, salary etc...

Wow that is confusing....

The letter heading says 'Arranged Employment letter' , but it actually contains all the requested things in the reference letter. many of my colleagues have received their PR already with the same letters given by my employer so I think they didn't change those wordings.

Some of my colleagues from European background got entire process done even in 5-6 months ;) anyway thanks for your advice but as I mentioned I have already submitted the application so will wait until AOR and if they ask for reference letter later.

Yes, for CEC u dont need an arranged employment letter. If some employer gives a reference letter in the format of an AEL, CIC might consider it as a reference letter and process normally as explained in some cases by nick_ind.
