Recent PR renewal April-May 2014 Timeline

Hopefully the speed will pick up soon as ppl return from vacations.....on the other hand I read that the citizenship applications are moving quite fast.......makes you wonder if CIC have moved employees from PR car renewals to citizenship application processing?!

Sent my PR for renewal on July 22 and received on July 31. Had no entry/exit for the last 745 days.
Submitted the following:
Primary Identity Document
1. Passport Copy
Secondary Identity Document
1. Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM5292)
2. Driving License
Additional Documents of Proof of Residence
1. Photocopy of current passport
2. Cancelled Old Passport
3. Income Tax Assessments (2011, 2012, 2013)
4. Employment Confirmation Letter
5. Certificates from Humber College and Acces Employment
6. Property Taxes (City of Vaughan) – Statement
Translation of Arabic Stamps
1. Certified Translation of Arabic stamps on Passport
2. Gregorian equivalent of Hijri dates in translation above
Fees – Copy of Receipt

Just checked my status online, and it shows complete, but when i click the underlined link for details, it only shows:

We received your application for a permanent resident card on May 12, 2014.

We started processing your application on August 6, 2014.

Anybody knows what this means? complete or not?

I submited my application on May 6, and CIC received it on May 9, it has been 10 days, and nothing shows when i check my status online. I am starting to get worried now. BTW, i applied for urgent process and include my ticket leaving Toronto on June 15. Will they respond to my urgent process request since i do not have ticket to proof that i will need to return to Canada recently?

Does anybody renewed PR card recently? would you please share your timeline, thank you!

When was the first time you were able to see eCAS update for the first time?

I applied on May 14th, mine still says 'unable to ......'

my last check was on last Friday,aug 8,not sure it was there before that,but definitely not earlier than aug 6.

Today I found ECAS update.
2 applications for me and wife.
Update seen only for my wife "In Process"
Mine is still " We are not able to identify...................."

We submitted the applications both for me and my wife on 30 April.
Received by Sydney office 6 May.
ECAS shows : We started processing on 29 July only for one application.

Any how there is a slight relief that they started doing some thing at least after 3 months.!! :-*

BTW: what information do you use to track in eCAS, I tried clientid and receipt number, in both case it can't find....waiting....

Guys, update again:

Received PR card in mail in Aug 13, which is one week after they started to process my case.

All the best Helen, keep us updated guys so we know where they are...they keep increasing the processing time and processing less days then before, i hope this trend doesn't continue...some of us are helpless, cancelled our summer vacations, plans and life waiting on them to open our files...so frustrating....

Hi Carbo,

I have been following your case pretty closely - I am going to be renewing my PR soon - My case is a little different than yours though.
I work in Detroit but live in Windsor ( I have more than 750 days in Canada already) ....

Couple of Quick questions -

1.) What were you asked to submit in the RQ ( Health Records , Exits and Entries ??)
2.) What were you asked in the land crossing when you traveled with an expired PR card ( Did you need to show anything other than the COPR , like renewal application fee, status ) ? Specifically what questions..?


At least one silver lining ,is that the Windsor and London office usually are quick (from what i have heard) and it usually takes about 6 months for a Citizenship application .. way much faster than other offices.. but not sure on the PR renewal ..

How about your status in CIC website?

Even without any update on my ECAS I got the new PR Card in today's mail. The website was not showing at all about in process.

I filed the application on 30 April 2014

The new PR Card, which I got today was issued on 21 August 2014!! :-*

So please don't rely of CIC website always.
