Hi all,

I'm in a strange position, I'm applying for my mother's PR through the PGP stream, been in process for years now.

IRCC asked for police clearance certificate for Thailand, unfortunately my mother doesn't live there anymore and has no ties there at all. The process for getting a police certificate there is very archaic and it's been more than 2 months that we've been trying to get it.

Anyway, as the deadline for IRCC came close we sent the other documents they requested, along with the security clearance for the country my mother currently lives in, and I also attached a letter detailing our frustrating experience dealing with the bangkok police office asking for an extension from IRCC.

I never heard back from IRCC until now almost a month after my email, with a ready for visa letter.

So my question is, what does this mean?
Is the police certificate for Thailand no longer required? Should I still keep trying to get it? Should I email IRCC of our continued efforts while also following the directions in the ready for visa letter?

This application has been in process since 2021 (I think... its been so long) and I'd hate to jeopardize it by misunderstanding what this ready for visa letter means.

TIA!

It means send the passport to get the visa and stop overthinking.

Probably they decided they don't need it. Send the passport and deal with it if they ask for it again.

DON'T email them and ask, that may send someone off to check. File this under "don't look a gift horse in the mouth".
