Hello everyone. I have a query regarding my express entry profile . Please answer only if you are certain about that.

--> I have one year experience in IT domain which started on May 25th 2020. But in April 1st week, I have filed my Express Entry profile and received ITA on 17th April 2021. I haven't completed my 1 year experience, but still got ITA. My question is whether I have to wait until my experience is done and submit further (or) should I decline my ITA and wait for further draws ??

As far as I know or from these forums I got to know that I have completed my 52 weeks ,if 30hrs /week is concerned. Can we calculate in this way ?? Please suggest me. Thanks in advance.

If you don't meet the minimum entry criteria (ex, you don't qualify for FSW) you should decline the application as you'll be ineligible at the time of the ITA.

If you're eligible for FSW and just got the additional points because soon you'll meet requirements for CEC you can wait and apply after your 1 year of work experience if you attach a letter of explanation saying that you got an ITA early because of a glitch.

Thanks Frisk. It shows I am eligible for FSW. But in the questionarre for EE profile, I have mentioned that I have completed 1 year of experience. But I have mentioned my start date as May 2020. Not sure how it works.

Its completely normal. Its not your fault. It happens, because the Express Entry System follows MM-YYYY format instead of DD-MM-YYYY. That is the reason, as soon as you enter into the last month of completing your 3 years of FSW experience and/or 1 year of CEC experience, the system automatically provides you respective Work Experience related points.

However, you're supposed to submit your PR application along with the documents once the experience completion date is elapsed, otherwise your application may land in trouble. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hi Nik
so you are suggesting that he shouldn’t reject the ITA and wait for his 1 year experience to be completed ?

Yes. I have rejected the ITA. I have received mixed reviews. So I suggest if it’s less than a month diff, accept and submit after your exp ends or else just wait for the data you complete your timeline

it’s recommended to reject the invitation even if you’re off by a week. They need atleast 52 weeks 30 hrs a week.
If you’re off by a week, say 51 weeks, and you accept the ITA, the officer can reject as you don’t meet Minimum Eligibility Requirement.
To be on safe side, accept any invitation that comes after you complete 52 weeks.

I'm expecting to get an invitation on a Thursday, but my 1st year of work experience would be reached on a Sunday. Does that mean I should wait 2 more weeks to accept an ITA and send my application?

yes, if one has already entered into the last month of completing an experience, then ITA can be accepted but documents should be submitted post the completion date.

Paid leaves are always considered as a part of work experience.

Besides, in case of unpaid leaves one must be concerned.

That’s true. Paid leaves are fine.
