Received an update, but it's not showing.

Hi everyone,

I had an interesting problem last night. And I was wondering if anyone had this before, or if you have any theories on why it happened.

During the months since I applied to EE, I received many emails from CIC. 2 of those emails said that my application was "Updated", but when I went to MyAccount to check that update, I found nothing. I considered that it must have been a glitch or a bug in the system.

But last night, I received one of those "ghost updates". I had an email saying that my application was updated. And when I went to check my account, I found nothing has changed, no letters, no requests. But I did see this table (Continue my profile / application, not yet submitted) appeared in my account, but it is empty. This is usually used to tell the applicant that they need to upload some documents. But it is empty, like you can see in the screenshot below.

Does anyone know what is going on? Do you have any theories about this?

I am afraid that CIC is now waiting for me to upload something, and I really cannot see what they are asking of me.

I submitted my application 8 months ago, on the 6th of March, 2016. How about you?

Yesterday. So it could be non-related, or it could be that they're doing some sort of mass system update that triggered emails.

Yeah, I got a couple of emails before that did not translate to actual updates in the system. But this one is different, because it displayed that empty table, or maybe it was there all along. I dont know, im really confused here.

I have the empty table there as well. I thought it was a standard table that was always displayed.

I thought it took a maximum of 6 months to get decision.

6 months or less is what CIC aims for. There is no promise that it will be 6 months max.
