Hi all,

We applied for PR Outland, our application was received August 6th. We got a request for the new IMM1344 on August 27th, we mailed it in and it was received on August 29th.
I haven't heard anything since until this morning, when I (the PA, not the sponsor) got this email. I am so confused, wouldn't they only start assessing my portion of the application if the sponsor was approved? I am unable to login to ECAS for my sponsor but on my side it shows "application received".
Does anyone know if this means the sponsor was approved and they are keeping my application at Mississauga for processing? Any help would be appreciated.

yes, i believe this is quite possible. there have been reports of people not getting notified about sponsor approval, and finding out from calling the call center. ECAS status really doesn't mean much, because it's dependant on the visa office updating the info, and it could be that mississauga just isn't efficient with it. also, some "straight forward" UK applications are staying in Mississauga for processing, and the FCPAPR label suggests that may be what happened. If the applicant is getting notified from CIC, then they are most likely working on his file. CIC will not contact the sponsor once the sponsor has been found eligible.

Was the applicant's copy of passport also requested along with the RPRF? Technically, i don't *think* the application can be "processed" and approved without the fee being paid. For ottawa, they asked for the fee with the passport, and my application went to "in process" after it was received. Perhaps once this is paid, they will ask for PP, and issue the visa!

I was actually asked for the applicant's copy of passport along with the updated IMM1344, which I thought was strange as I had included a copy to begin with...do you mean the actual passport? I'm visa-exempt! I was so surprised to see them request the right of PR fee as I know that usually doesn't come until the end. CIC will never cease to amaze me lol

correct, the copy of the passport is what will be used to issue the visa. in ottawa, many applicants don't even get pp requests, and they go straight to DM. It's quite possible they are ready to issue the visa! My theory of why some applicants don't get passport requests is because a) it is unlikely they will change their name (or already have), and b) the passport is valid for more than 6 mo, as required for issuing the visa.

Since no one really knows how this new trend of "straight forward" apps staying in mississauga will turn out, it's quite possible you're nearing the end!

I am the sponsor and i have received SA and they have contacted me for an updated schedule A form. My husband the applicant has not received any emails even though his email was on the application .

Ok now I am very confused. My husband called the Call Centre and they said that seeing as our additional requested form wasn't received until August 29th, that is why we haven't received sponsorship approval yet. Why would they have transferred my file to the visa office and started working on it if my sponsor hadn't been approved yet?

i don't see how they could. this all seems rather unusual. did you ask the call center agent that question? i would recommend either calling back (since it's common to get different answers by different people) and/or getting your MP involved in figuring out what is going on with your file. My guess is the call center agent doesn't know what's really going on, and it's just passing off a best guess as fact. Also, it's still not clear where the file is and what the process of applications staying in mississauga is actually like. it could very well be mississauga processes both sides at the same time to decrease the total processing time or it can be a mistake. there's really no knowing for sure at this point. perhaps your mp will have better luck in getting to the bottom of it.

So I called and enquired, the agent said that it means my application is very straightforward and they are speeding it up by processing both at the same time. Whatever, I'm just going to pay my fee, send in the stuff I was asked for and sit tight! Thanks for your help 8)

after 90 of waiting for sponsorship approval.
this is what i got from CIC today.
i need advice please:

This refers to the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class you submitted to this office on behalf of xxxxxxxxxxx xxxx xxxxx and family (if applicable).

We have reviewed your application and regret to advise that you are not an eligible sponsor for the following reason(s):
• You have not submitted an application for a member of the family class. You did not declare the applicant to Citizenship and Immigration Canada on your own Application for Permanent Residence or at the time you became permanent resident of Canada. As such, you do not meet regulation 117(9)(d). Please refer to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations listed below for details.
• Given this ineligibility issue, we have not reviewed any other sponsorship criteria at this time. In the event the visa officer considers processing the application for permanent residence, he/she will notify this office and a full review of all sponsorship eligibility requirements will be done. You may be contacted for additional information should that occur.

You indicated on your sponsorship application that you wish to continue with its processing regardless of any ineligibility. As such, the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for consideration.

Your ineligibility to sponsor will be a significant factor in the assessment of the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s). A final decision regarding that application shall be made by a visa officer and will be communicated to you and your relative. Instructions regarding the Right to Appeal will be issued as applicable by the visa office. Please note that the Right to Appeal may only be exercised after the visa officer has rendered a final decision.

Hi every one

We applied for PR Outland, our application was received September 26/09/2014. After a long silence my wife who's a canadian called the the call centre she was informed that they have received the application form, they re processing. 3/1/15 my wife received email with file number so we started to track it online through the ECAS system which stated file received. Yesterday I received an email asking for additional funds of $ 490 for RPRF.My wife has not received the opproval letter to sponsor me yet.
Does anyone know if this means the sponsor was approved and they are keeping my application at Mississauga for processing?. Can any one shed some light in my situation. Has any one been in this situation before.
