Hi

Alot of people have mentioned that you must show strong ties for your spouse to your home country when applying for a TRV.

However, when I did the online TRV questionnaire and looked at the application, there is no place where it requires you to show this information.

In the list of documents required, I don't see anything asking for proof of ties or return to Canada.

Has this requirement changed? or is it because its a spousal visitor visa application they are not asking?

To visit Canada, you must:

have a valid travel document, such as a passport,
be in good health,
convince an immigration officer that you have ties—such as a job, home, financial assets or family—that will take you back to your home country,
convince an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit, and
have enough money for your stay. (The amount of money you will need can vary. it depends on things like how long you will stay, and whether you will stay in a hotel or with friends or relatives.)

You don't have to show family ties, but not doing so will cause your application to likely be refused. Be warned that if you have more relatives in Canada than back home, it's very likely you will be refused also.

ok got it

But where in the application form or submission do you have to show this proof? in the invite letter?

Also

For the question:
Are you accompanying a family member that has status in Canada, or has recently been approved to come to Canada?

Does my wife answer Yes...indicating she is coming to visit me in Canada?
