Hi guys,

I'm a Canadian citizen living with my Egyptian husband in kuwait for 2 years now. I want him to come to Canada in the summer when I deliver my baby. But he applied 3 times before marriage and after marriage and he was denied.

Now our living situation is better and I believe I have a stronger case but I'm not sure. I still didn't apply for a sponsorship hoping he'd get a visa first sicne I want him to come with me soon instead of waiting for a year or two for the PR application to go through. He has an American visa for the next 5 years and we went there twice together, plus he traveled to Turkey and Mexico and other countries so his travel history is diverse.

Here's what I'll submit:

1. His income is doubled now so it'll match the bank statement.

2. We'll only request to visit for 2 weeks so it shows he needs to come back to his job.

3. He Will submit a letter from his employer stating his income, duties and length of vacation and return date.

4. I will also submit a letter from my teaching position stating the length of my vacation and return date.

5. We'll show apartment contract and our financed car statement that is still ongoing.

Is this sufficient?

Now my question is with the purpose of the visit, should I mention that I want him to be present for the delivery of the baby and I'll submit a doctor's note about delivery date?

Or should I make it for seeing my family and pure tourism?

Or to participate in a bodybuilding show (he's a a professional bodybuilder) and there's two shows in Toronto and Vancouver in the summer. I can submit contracts for these shows and previous competition history to give more evidence.

Is this sufficient or are the chances still slim?

Do you intend to sponsor him once you’re all there? Does he intend to stay after you’ve delivered?

No, we have jobs here in kuwait and plan to live here a few more years but just want to visit my family over the summer and deliver there since it's better hospital care.

If I were you, I will choose this.

That is great.

That was my intension, but reading on this thread I got the impression that if I mention I'm pregnant it will increase his ties to the country and therfore assume he will not leave the country, which is not true

If your spouse condition has changed to better than those refused applications before then a TRV for visiting your family is also a reasonable reason.

That is a valuable evidence to prove that he won't try to stay in Canada illegally. I wonder if your husband was refused Canada visitor visa before or after got The U.S visa.

Last time we applied was last May after our return from the states in April (I thought waiting after we went and came back it would increase our chances) but no luck.

But my husband's salary doubled in the last 6 months so maybe that'll be different for us. But when we applied they mentioned how there's no ties to our country of residence and I don't know how to fix this concern.

By showing them some value property like ownership of house, land, car ... I think.
Having a high salary income and indefinite labor contract also prove the ties.

You’ve already got advice about the visitor visa but I thought I should ask this, are you planning on staying in Canada for at least 6 months to qualify for provincial health care or are you paying for your delivery?

Even in Alberta where coverage starts on day 1, you need to LIVE in Canada for 6 months so that the government does not come after you for using free healthcare when you are not eligible.

We have a house in Egypt but not in kuwait, can I shwo ownership of car even if it'd still being financed? Also last time we gave them a letter from his work but it wasn't enough to convince them.

I personally travel to Canada often because I still have some things to take care of there and a family home I stay at. Although I recently got my job in kuwait but I'm still not a resident here. I'm only a resident in Ontario since I go back and forth.

You raised a good point, my plan was to not pay but if it's going to cause problems I also don't mind paying I'll look into and see where I stand from a legal perspective.

Call the OHIP people. Good luck!

Yes, you can. At least it can prove that you have a stable life. Must combine many factors to prove the ties. Also depends on the consideration of Immigration officer.
Oh my, I don't know why TRV of Canada so strictly recently. Btw, I hope your Spouse will get it soon.

Thank y

Thank you so much I sure hope so, it's been frustrating to say the least, especially that we're being honest with everything!
