Friends,

I am planning to do short landing in November and return in two weeks. I will give my friend's address or PR card. Will there be any risk involved in that ? Meaning will postman issue the PR Cards to friends? Is there any chance that CIC will call personally to collect PR card from Canada Services office? In worst case can I return to Canada without PR card and with current PR form?

Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

My case is that I completed meds for myself and spouse on 11-May-2015 however furtherance email was received from Regional Medical Office, New Delhi for my spouse. We completed all furtherance tests (sputum and culture, repeat X-ray, pulmonologist consultation) successfully on 13-Aug-2015.

It's now been almost two months since Max hospital in New Delhi submitted our re-medical reports to the Canadian embassy, however I have not seen any progress in terms of ECAS update or PPR email.

Is there anyone from New Delhi, India in this forum who was asked for Furtherance sputum tests?

Cheers,
Lazyboy

though people do this but there is always risk involve as if CSF calls you in-person for any query and you may not be there. Also if you want to go there before PR card issued, you have to reapply for visa with justification as why you left before PR card issued to you. Hope this helps

Hi Lazyboy

I am from Ahmedabad, India and I am in similar situation. My spouse has given her Sputum sample for smear and culture test last week. Repeat x-ray is scheduled in December. The new panel physician (TB specialist) has informed me that his own diagnosis is that there is no medical problem but he needs to do all tests as instructed by RMO. He told me that if there is no positive result in any of the furtherance tests than they clear the medical as soon as one week. He also said that they issue visa immediately after that.

BTW, I have few questions if you do not mind asking.
Is pulmonologist means TB specialist?
If not, than why his consultation was asked?
Is your panel physician and pulmonologist same person?
Does RMO ask this in all cases with TB scare or is it because there is any other issues in respiratory tract?

Hi NamPr05,

Thanks for your reply! Since your spouse has given samples last week, the result for sputum and culture tests will come in 6-8 weeks.

Answer to your questions:
1. pulmonologist is a lung specialist.
2. Since scar was observed in the first x-ray, hence they need to take 2nd x-ray post 3 months and compare the two. The pulmonologist is a specialist and thus we were asked to consult.
3. panel physician and pulmonologist are not the same person. However they were within the same hospital.
4. RMO asks for additional tests as per each case. In my case, I saw the e-medical software (in which our tests are submitted), it had a list of additional test required for my spouse.

Please note that my spouse has no medical condition, however CIC wants to rule out any possibility of ACTIVE TB, hence all these tests are imperative.

but majority received PPR before or within 5 days of DM

In my opinion, you should wait for another 15 days then send a cse with subject "urgent".

I hope, you will get PPR before that... :)

Best of luck. ..

How did you get access to that? :o

Anyway, thanks for the reply. My line of query for this point was is there any further test required if and after we clear sputum test and the scar is not developed any further in the 90 day later repeat x-ray? Because sputum tests and repeat x-ray confirm that the person has no active TB and there is no chance that s/he will spread it to other persons. So, after this the medical shall be deemed completed successfully, isn't it?

Yes. It should be deemed completed.

However, even post my successful completion of the said tests, I am yet to receive TLU or PPR email. So I believe my only option is to order GCMS notes and see where the file is stuck!

Anyhow, All the best for your further medicals :)
