HI All,

I have completed my medicals on 13th July and waiting for passport request. I have got employment sponsorship and getting work permit visa. Can someone share average time period between medicals and PPR for work permit visa?

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your help here.

Kindly let me know after how many months can I apply for a US visa for travelling purposes, after landing in Canada? (Already have PR, landing next month)

Thanks

Friends needed your help on 2 queries:

1. I have recently received medical request. I have just came to know that my son's name on generic form IMM 008 was written wrongly,i-e 1st name and family names have been erroneously interchanged. However, on other form (Additional family information) i have mentioned it correctly. I am planning to inform them in a day/two before my medical appointment. My medical date is on 5th August. Will this affect my medical results as the name is showing wrongly in medical form. Further will my case will be dragged due to this issue and can they ask me to resubmit the generic form again?

2. They have also requested passport copies along with receipt of RPRF. Do these passports need to be attested or simple photocopy would be enough?

Will greatly appreciate your views on this.

Hi Capri13,

Can you tell me how much funds do i need to carry for a family of three? i am planning to land in sept alone? How did you take the funds with you? A travellers cheque or through that account with scotiabank. Please share what else do we need to carry.

Thanks

How much funds for family of 3 - I guess we all know that.
How to take funds - Travellers cheque, Scotia bank account, demand draft , bank account statement, etc are all fine.

1. Dont wait to inform them. You can still proceed with the medicals as the results are linked to the IMEI number. However, you can raise CSE and send them email right away so that they can have a look and correct it in their records.
2. Only photo copies are enough.

No brother, Its Bangalore>New Delhi >Amsterdam >Edmonton. So its not stopping in US. But I am not sure about how is their service.

KLM is the major carrier of Holland. They should be good.

Morever, all airlines are basically the same. They offers same kind of seating.
Most of the times their caterers are also the same.
Go ahead with KLM, you will be alright.

Haha. if it helps, let me tell you my situation.
My complete legal name is "Alok" . thats right, just 4 letters. no surnames, no middle name.

And you also know how it is always mandatory to enter surname or family name in all legal or employment forms that you fill.

So if I can survive all my life with this, your issue is nothing..lol.
In fact, even with this mess, I have managed to get Work permits for UK and Germany in past.

Anyway, would also like to add for Canada PR, they have shifted my firstname to be my surname..
Imagine this:
> My passport (Indian), does not have a surname or family name. It just has my first name.
> My employment letters, salary slips, bank accounts and everything else has my first name, and a surname which I picked from my Dad's name.
> My Canadian PR will not have a first name at all. They have shifted "Alok" to be my surname.

so basically, as long as you can prove your identity, it is not a problem.

Hi All,

I have a query hope you can reply to this:

If I land in canada and come back to india after 2 months without getting the PR card. Can my spouse collect my PR? Is this possible or I have to be in canada till the time i receive my PR card? Has any one done this?

Please reply as i have to plan this accordingly.
Thanks

No news is good news. If you have received PER, surely MR will come. Looks like you have sent docs to add your child before MR came for you and your wife. So VO is doing your background check and formalities to add your child together. Average time from PER to MR is 3 months and average time for child's MR from doc submission is 45-60 days. For you both durations are overlapping so extra work and hence extra time. Hang in there, good news around.

Hi, you mentioned u planning to land alone but ur PR is for family of 3. How will you complete landing formalities without you family landing in canada with you? What will happen to the PR cards.. will you get it only and you family later when they land? If you can, please PM me how you are planning to go about this landing alone process as I am also thinking about it.
