No Alok, even in Different airline, you will get baggage allowance same as your international leg, but it should under ONE PNR i.e., one Booking ID.

Oh.. thats some good info. +1

A small and common but quite useful information for those who are preparing for landing and booking AIR TICKETS.

Kindly note that if you are booking air tickets with some stopover/connecting flights then make sure you do it everything under ONE PNR.

For e.g.,

There is no direct flight from Jaipur/Udaipur to Toronto. So we probably book it via Mumbai/Delhi.

Jaipur -> Delhi -> London/Dubai/anyeurope stop -> Toronto

The Domestic leg of Jaipur -> Delhi, we generally tend to book it differently seeing a good amount of Reduced Air Fares. But this will actually lead you to a big trouble. BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE.

Domestic flights will allow you strictly not more than 15kg Check-in and 7kb cabin bags. While Internation flights (Delhi-toronto) will allow you upto 23+23kg Check-in and 7kg Cabin. So you will probably land up paying for extra baggage for as high as 300Rs/kg + service tax.

This is only a problem when you book DOMESTIC and INTERNATIONAL flights DIFFERENTLY or under DIFFERENT PNR. If you have booked under ONE PNR you WILL NOT have any problem even in domestic. Your baggage allowance will be upgraded to the highest.

So do note that if you r making bookings through an Agent or self, make sure you book it from Jaipur -> Toronto (select from Jaipur -> toronto in your itinerary page) this will make your whole itinerary under one booking.

I have faced similar situation with Yatra.com even though I have booked via phone and now those idiots are not ready to accept their fault. Its their agents duty to inform us about such scenarios as we might over look or not be aware about the actual case. Even the call agent wasnt aware about this. It was only when I called Domestic airline guys, they said that your agent should have told you prior booking.

My booking is under two PNR, one for DOMESTIC and another for International. And this will now create a problem of baggage allowance. The cancellation fee is also much much higher $150/person.

So think twice before you book and confirm 2-3 times about the details before you make payments.. Do ask your agents twice whether he is doing under one PNR or different ones.

Good info bro.

Is there is any difference between processes of category FSW & PNP, after third line update??

Someone told me that in FSW there is possibility of interview and also in this category applicant need to submit PCC along with other docs.

However in PNP, I have already submitted PCC and all other relevant documents. My TLU updated on 20th June’15 and still waiting for PPR.

Appreciate your reply.

Its the same process.. even in FSW, interviews happen very rarely.
Regarding PCC, an applicant can either wait for VO to ask it, or send proactively.

what sort of security checks is done after TL & before PPR ??

Each applicant for a Canada Immigration (Permanent Resident) Visa, aged 18 or over, will undergo a Security Clearance to prove that he or she is not criminally inadmissible.

Police Clearance Certificates or certificates of non-criminal activity, as they are sometimes referred to, must be obtained from the country of current residence and from each country in which the applicant has resided for more than 6 months since his or her 18th birthday.

Police Clearance Certificates can usually can be obtained through law enforcement offices or other government agencies. In extenuating circumstances, Canadian Immigration Visa Offices will waive the requirement to submit Police Clearance Certificates.

Police certificates must be recently obtained. They will be considered valid until the expiry stated on the certificate, or so long as they have been issued no more than three months before your full application for immigration to Canada is submitted to the Canadian immigration visa office abroad, whichever date is sooner.

All applicants for Canada immigration must also undergo a background clearance to weed out those who have been, or are involved in espionage, subversion or terrorism. This is to ensure that the safety and order of Canadian society are maintained and protected. Such security screening decisions are made based on information from every available source, which is then carefully weighed to determine whether an applicant is likely to threaten the internal security of Canada. When there is an indication of security concerns, an interview will be scheduled to discuss these findings with the applicant. Anyone who poses such a threat must necessarily be prevented from entering Canada.

Please note that there is a clear distinction between the Police Clearance Certificate, which the applicant is required to obtain, and the background clearance, in which the applicant for the most part is not actively involved.

Hi, below is my timeline..

Application sent nov 2014
PER february 2015
MR june 2015

My spouse has a child with ex-partner who is not dependent on us, neither we have a custody of the child. Now we have received medical request form for that child as well. There is no way that i can get that child's medical done. He is under 7years. We had clearly mentioned in the file about the separation and custody of child. Also that child is not a part of immigration process from the start. Kindy reply what to do now? We did not send child custody order from court and planning to send it soon to request exemption of non-dependent child. My medical 30 days deadline has been started.

Please help guys!!!
