Yesterday collected Passports and COPR from VFS, Very happy, one milestone achieved !!

Guys,

Sorry I'm away from the group for a while now as I had no update from a really long time
I wanted to see if anyone is currently in a similar situation.
Just a preface to my current situation
Got my MR on 23rd Dec and submitted and got status updated in 2-3 week of Jan.
I had applied for my FBI PCC which took its sweet time and I had applied for an extension with NDVO and got mine until April 3rd at that point of time.
Due to my friend moving to a new address, I lost my original PCC in the mail.
I had requested for a new one and I was able to send it on April 2nd.
And I did the biggest blunder of all
Fearing I might not be able to send it by time, I requested for an extension, although later I was able to send it before April 3rd.
But few weeks later, I received response from NDVO stating that they have granted extension until mid of May.
At that time I replied to their mail saying I have already sent and it was received by them on April 2nd.
That was the last communication from NDVO and since then I have no communication, I raised a CSE again in Early June but no reply.
Anyone in a similar situation.... ??? ??? ???

NOC 0112; Original VO: NDVO - transferred to Colombo. Got DM last Friday (June 26). Haven't got any updates since then.. Folks, any ideas what is CVO up to?? The wait is really killing. Don't know whether its a positive or a negative sign.

How much time does it take to get medicals from NDVO after adding spouse or a newborn baby lately

It depends upon file to file nd case to case..
Usually delay is of 1-4 months...
But in some cases delay can extend...

Please I need the advice of forum members.

I applied as the principal applicant in FSWP 2014 and got my MER on June 20th. However, my husband is currently in Canada taking a post graduate degree. I was wondering if the MER he undertook for his study permit in Oct 2014 will be accepted by the VO (since medicals are supposedly valid for one year)or if he would need to do fresh medical exams in Canada. Assuming the original medicals are accepted does it mean that the PR visa once issued would be valid for one year from Oct 2014? In our present circumstances, 2015 will be more ideal for us to land in Canada.

A small and common but quite useful information for those who are preparing for landing and booking AIR TICKETS.

Kindly note that if you are booking air tickets with some stopover/connecting flights then make sure you do it everything under ONE PNR.

For e.g.,

There is no direct flight from Jaipur/Udaipur to Toronto. So we probably book it via Mumbai/Delhi.

Jaipur -> Delhi -> London/Dubai/anyeurope stop -> Toronto

The Domestic leg of Jaipur -> Delhi, we generally tend to book it differently seeing a good amount of Reduced Air Fares. But this will actually lead you to a big trouble. BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE.

Domestic flights will allow you strictly not more than 15kg Check-in and 7kb cabin bags. While Internation flights (Delhi-toronto) will allow you upto 23+23kg Check-in and 7kg Cabin. So you will probably land up paying for extra baggage for as high as 300Rs/kg + service tax.

This is only a problem when you book DOMESTIC and INTERNATIONAL flights DIFFERENTLY or under DIFFERENT PNR. If you have booked under ONE PNR you WILL NOT have any problem even in domestic. Your baggage allowance will be upgraded to the highest.

So do note that if you r making bookings through an Agent or self, make sure you book it from Jaipur -> Toronto (select from Jaipur -> toronto in your itinerary page) this will make your whole itinerary under one booking.

I have faced similar situation with Yatra.com even though I have booked via phone and now those idiots are not ready to accept their fault. Its their agents duty to inform us about such scenarios as we might over look or not be aware about the actual case. Even the call agent wasnt aware about this. It was only when I called Domestic airline guys, they said that your agent should have told you prior booking.

My booking is under two PNR, one for DOMESTIC and another for International. And this will now create a problem of baggage allowance. The cancellation fee is also much much higher $150/person.

So think twice before you book and confirm 2-3 times about the details before you make payments.. Do ask your agents twice whether he is doing under one PNR or different ones.

Good point. I think its more about booking on the same airlines. This is only way you will get same PNR. If the airlines are different, then the domestic airline wont entertain requests around additional baggage.

No Alok, even in Different airline, you will get baggage allowance same as your international leg, but it should under ONE PNR i.e., one Booking ID.
