Hi Sandeep,sandeep7972 said:I am working as a Branch Manager in a reputable Insurance Company..here we dont give travel policy to PR holders... Its given only to ppl travelling on Business , Student and Tourist Visa..Ive spoken with officials of other insurance companies tooo.. ..We may get the policy but the problem is that if we register a claim overseas later , it'll easily get rejected.
But i dont have any ideas about these TATA AID, Bajaj Allianz etc.. If they are saying that they do serve PR holders too, then go for it.....
I am not denying what you say.
However, then my question is, if thats the standard practice then when we book travel insurance online, why dont insurance companies ask for VISA related details.
I have booked insurance a number of times online through TATA AIG, Bajaj Allianz and HDFC, and the online form never asked for VISA details.
The online form just asks to fill personal details, passport number, date of travel, nominee details.
I normally fill these details and make the payment. The policy details is then downloadable on the confirmation page, and they also email it immediately.
So the doubt remains: if insurance companies do not want to give it to PR people, they sould clearly highlight it when the customer books it online.
strange.
