Dear Forum mates,

your valuable inputs required regarding POF while landing

I will carry

1.) 5000 cash CAD
2.) Bank Fixed deposit of nearly 8-9 lakhs. (If possible i would not like to break this FD).

Will this suffice ??

Any other options - please let me know.

Please note that my brother is a canadian citizen and me and my family are going to stay at his house.(Does this makes any difference regarding POF,as i will not have to rent a house)....

I understand why u don't want to break the FDs but showing POF in INR is risky....Most ppl advise against it...Till date, I have found only one forumite who posted that this worked....

You can show POF in CAD in Cash, Canadian Bank A/c Statement, or TCs....

Hello,
I have one query. Am a August applicant. SL on 21 feb. Waiting for mr but till now no response from their side. Is it due to some background verification going on or it may be due to heavy rush at Ndvo? I mean all the applicants who are waiting for a long time now for mr, all of them are stuck at the verification stage or it may be due to overload of work at Ndvo?? Wait is killing......

Dear Arkscan,
Thanks for advise.
To be on safer side i will go for either CAD in cash or TC.

1. I am already carrying 5000 cash.
2. Can you help me how we can purchase TC, (which is good bank for that).......

Thanks in advance,,,,,,,

I have recd a CSE reply from NDVO today. Experts kindly comment :-

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

Under Canada's immigration legislation, all immigrant applications are subject to statutory requirements, including medical and background checks. These requirements must be satisfied before an applicant may be granted permanent resident status. In this context, certain background investigations are being conducted in connection with your application. As these investigations are conducted by outside agencies, we have no purview over the processing time. We are therefore unable to give an exact time frame in which we expect to conclude the verifications on this case.

For now, there is no action required on your part. Please be assured that as soon as the checks are completed the next steps in this application will be determined. Until then, we will not be able to provide any additional information on this case.

Delays in the processing of visa applications are always disappointing to all concerned, but rest assured that all efforts are being made to ensure efficient and expeditious processing of all visa applications.

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

Check with ur bank where u have the max amount stored....reduces the hassle.

Note many banks these days will say they have stopped issuing TCs and instead they will advise to go for a Forex Card...

In that case Thomas cook is a goood option. Just check the rates once.

Hi jigyasu,

Have you given a managers contact on it reference letter. Please check if the manager or HR got a verification call? Most likely they are verifying ur employment related details.
