Morning Folks,.

I have submitted my PP to NDVO on 1st of April. Expecting it to be returned at least this week. How many are in similar timeline?

In meanwhile, I found British Airways had some offer on 12th june, (41K from Chennai to Toronto 1 stop @ Heathrow). My last working day at my current job is 27th May. So I have booked it. ;)

Have I done it wisely,.? or will the ticket price may go down further? Thanks

Congratulations Buddy !!! :) :) :) All the Best !!!

You got a good deal .. Pls share your landing experience

Hi Buvi,

First of all many congratulations to u. The price at which u have booked BA flight is quite reasonable as I was finding the other day that Jet is offering Delhi-Toronto for 39k and calling it flash sale which was quite hilarious. BA is far better in terms of comfort and convenience.
Also u have mentioned about ur last day as May 27th....vhn did u put down ur papers and what was ur notice period ?

Do share ur landing experience

Hello Seniors,
how do we apply for a permanent resident card after landing in canada. ?
Also can someone please give me details of Social insurance number.
and how do we show our proof of funds.
Appreciate your help.

The PR card is applied on your behalf by the immigration officer using the COPR at the time of landing. So you need not apply anything. For SIN you need to visit the local office in the province you are going to be staying.
PoF will be asked during the immigration process either by the official or by the CBSA officer

Thanks Bhatia,

I have resigned on 17th March (even before PPR :P) as I got 2 months notice period,. Also I have informed my employer that I may take some leaves in between (to attend CIIP and other stuffs) so that he can adjust my last working day tentatively. From Chennai I saw the trend was around 43k to 46k,. so I booked it earlier just to save few grants 8).

Hello FutureCanadian,

Reg POF, Can I show my POF as FD letter from the bank manager of my bank in India?
Additional to this letter I have planned to take 2k CAD as cash with me.

Am I safe here? Thanks!

Hi Forum,

I have created a thread for NOC 2234 applicants, from the spreadsheet, i could find out less than 30, please do visit the page and share your time line, settlement plans, information of having or planning to apply for RICS, CIQS or any equivalent membership.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/fswp-noc-2234-applicants-t279526.0.html

Though most of us are in PER stage, we can share some useful information about job prospects, requirements and other information to one another to settle down in a easier manner.

Thank you.

No...You need to show the funds in CAD$$. One alternative is to take an exchange rate information from a reputed intl site and then use that along with the FD letter.
But I would not recommend it, just in case the officer does not accept then its a very long process. You have waited so long and sacrificed so much, don't make it tough during the last step. You might be loose some money but its better and safer to be in CAD$$.
