Re enter Canada without PR card

Hello. I am planing to ride along with a friend in their car from Detroit to Toronto then take a flight from YYZ elsewhere.

Problem is I dont have my PR card with me but I have my landing papers. Would it be possible to re enter Canada without PR ? Please note I am not visa exempt

Yes - you can re-enter Canada through a US/Canada land border.
