Re-enter Canada on closed work permit after getting laid off

If I am on a closed work permit ( expiring in Oct2023), and I get laid off in Canada while I am in India for vacation, will I be able to re-enter Canada after getting laid off on my existing TRV and WP?
Given that my TRV and work permit is valid till Oct2023 and I am returning within the validity.

I know it is legal to stay in Canada till WP expiry (and not work), is re-entry allowed?

You will not know until you enter. CBSA may ask for proof of employment or they may not. If they ask for proof, they can deny entry because they will be concerned about how you will support yourself for so long and that you will overstay.

Read OP’s posts. Does friend have valid TRV? If so, CBSA may let him in if he can show he is just visiting. He will know upon entry.
Yes he has a valid TRV with multiple entry. I did some research on the web and I can conclude that there is no specific answer to this question. IT WILL BE ON THE CBSA Officer you meet at the Port of Entry.
