As far as I know, status will remain as 'Provided.'
I heard normally, they request RCMP (fingerprint) certificate after they complete first Background check.
So, I would assume next possible step is background check to be 'In Process' (2nd time). However, there are some cases that BG check remains as 'not needed' until they receive PPR

So my BG status is showing same in progress so what it means?

I cannot tell what it means as I am not working for CIC. You could be in a first BG check or second.. I would recommend you to read this thread if you have not. It is the brief summary of the immigration process

How far is PPR if RPRF is requested ? How paying this upfront helps ?

It may take a month or two after RPRF request.
As far as paying it upfront is concerned, I don't think it has impact on the application processing speed.
(Although CIC claims faster processing with upfront RPRF payment)
In some cases, people have got RPRF request along with PPR.

I think based on the cases i watch, and i watch a lot, paying upfront has an impact, maybe not for all cases, but it has.

Hi All,

At the time we filled application I was not working but now I have started working as permanent employee.. So do I need to update this to CIC?

Hi everyone..

Another question, we just received mail in our CIC account (information letter) that as our son's pp is expiring within next 12 months we should submit copies of renewed pp..

His pp is expiring in May, so should we get same renewed now?
