2 to 3 weeks after RCMP mail out date.

Call IRCC number or ask on the email sent for fingerprints request.

I reached out to them yesterday, 2 weeks after the RCMP mail out date; they said they hadn't received the fingerprints yet.
So, the waiting continues. I'll reach out again to them in a couple of weeks.

I think you should follow up next week. All the best.

Reached out to them again today (3 weeks after RCMP said the fingerprint reports were sent to IRCC).
IRCC still says they haven't received it.
However, now they added a line saying they're backlogged for the last few weeks - asked me to follow up again after a few more weeks

I'm wondering if a request or GCMS notes at this point makes sense? Or, should I wait till the fingerprints are updated before I make a GCMS notes request?
Also, what URL do I use to request GCMS notes?

Hello all,

What is the best and fast way to submit FP to IRCC

1. RCMP
2. Commissioners
3. Local police

Thank you

Just got off the phone with an IRCC agent. She seemed very helpful and during the conversation was able to get some important titbits of information. She seemed to be a native French speaker though, so we might have to account for stuff lost in translation -
  1. She said all criminality checks were being processed by IRCC Vancouver now to decrease the load. This includes fingerprints as well
  2. Merely receiving an FP request does not make the processing of any application non-routine. She seemed to be hinting at some new processing rules and assured me that in my case receiving the FP request didn't make my application non-routine
  3. Also said that the timelines are progressing based on their website i.e. hinting at the 2 year timelines that we're seeing when we check on IRCC website.

I submitted on 16 march. I have yet not received because canada post is off since 2 april, because of good friday, easter monday etc... Hopefully will receive today or at max tomorrow. Will update here .
They have mailed to me not to CIC. We have to scan and upload.

I thought once we receive the FP documents from the agency we have to mail it out ourselves to the CIC Vancouver and not scan and upload online. Could you please clarify?

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question about fingerprints... Will the fact that my passport is expired be a problem when I get my fingerprints taken? My understanding is that my DL and care card are also acceptable forms of ID.

Thanks.

Driving license and health card should work. They just need 2 pieces of ID.

from what i heard RCMP takes longer than their usual 3 days processing before pandemic and IRCC vancouver is backlogged because of lots of requests coming in. did you try following up to see if ircc received your fingerprints ?

My husband sent his fingerprints last week of Feb. We both passed the online citizenship before that. And haven’t heard anything as well. We originally applied for citizenship back in August 2019.
