To be fair, if it's only Australia, Canada, and New Zealand left with open, points-based, online immigration systems, they'll all be competitive. Like 200 countries in the world.

But if there is a high ceiling and a relatively low number of applicants for your occupation, your chances are high.

People in trades, nursing, IT and engineering are in high demand in Australia for example.

Yes, i've looked at all of them lol.

New Zealand for example, people say that it's very friendly to immigrants but when you look at their points system, it's almost impossible to qualify unless you have a job offer or are in an demand occupation.

Same thing with the UK, their points system is a joke to be honest. It's just the same thing as it's always been, you need a job offer and then they dress it up with a points system.

I elaborated on Australia, because genuinely there are people who are scraping by to get enough points for Canada, when they might be able to immigrate easily to Australia. Likewise, there are people who have little hope of immigrating to Australia but would have a really high CRS score if they applied to Canada.

You should look at which system is easier according to your profile.

With Biden becoming president in the U.S, people predict that immigration will get back to normal in the U.S as well. That should relieve pressure from people on H1-B and other work visas there who were fleeing northwards to Canada and raising cut-off scores.

I also want to mention, people who think there will suddenly be this massive influx of French speakers applying to Canada are being a bit misguided. IRCC are increasing the number of points mainly because they are already so far behind in recruiting French speaking immigrants at the federal level, they've needed to take drastic measures to try to meet their very modest quota of French speaking immigrants.

I doubt it, Canada needs a lot of people.

To be honest, so does Australia but the politics around immigration is dicey because most immigrants move to the big cities and end up clogging mass transit, and driving up rent and real estate prices.

Australia also have a chronic lack of accommodation so immigration exacerbates that.

This is exactly why Canada is putting more emphasis on “rural” immigration pilot programs. So that you don’t get a situation where everyone ends up in Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver or Montreal.

I am unable to submit iqas evaluation request due to some pool size issue.. Anyone else facing the same. Can someone please share what can be done in this case when IQAS is not taking applications for submission?

The truth is you have a lot of provinces who get overlooked by immigrants, so this helps to some extent to redress that.

If the conservatives come to power i expect them to try to make it harder to relocate if you get a provincial nomination.

I keep telling my best friend I don’t mind ending up in Yukon with my day job living comfortably without the need to amass wealth and she thinks I am mental when I can live in Ontario with her and other friends.

We were certain we were going to end up in Nova Scotia, so did a lot of research on it. Sounds like a pretty amazing place to be.
