If they do consistent all program draws, the score will remain low. There'll always be more English only candidates than bilingual candidates. I think inconsistent draws will hurt the cutoff more than the extra 20 points. I expect the next 2 draws to have a higher cutoff and for it to then fall back down.

Please!
The upset minority is always the loudest-mouthed. Most of these people have failed in reality and are now trying to blame that on the government.
They are the ones who should grow up and face the reality.

No one can predict that based on an annoncement.

True, only with draws we might be able predict something. While in theory, with more ITAs scores should go down, at the same time this announcement could attract new people on immigrating to Canada.

All I can say is that with this increase in targets, the agencies will go back to work and Express Entry will become increasingly popular and competitive. Work on your scores guys, max out your ielts, work on your french. Atleast you now know you kinda have time. You have till 2023.

This is awesome news. I expected an increase, but not to this extent. Hopefully this will lead to a meaningful reduction in the score over the short term. But it will be countered in a few months by ever increasing demand.

So never stop the effort to improve your score if your current score is even a point below the current cutoff CRS.

What do you think about 471?

Yup. The prevailing assumption should always be that the influx of new (qualifying score) entrants to the Express Entry pool equals or exceeds the number that received an ITA in the previous corresponding draw. Regardless of the number and frequency of draws, and ITAs issued.

And even that is assuming a majority of those that received an ITA, accepted it.

If your birthday does not come too fast, you have a very good chance. I believe you will get your ItA eventually.
On a side note, why not giving IELTS another try if you have room for improvement?

Oh, my fault! Thanks for pointing out!
But French is the second language in nigeria. English being the first. And almost everyone studies French as a subject in school. In addition, good no of migrants from other neighbouring Francophone countries like ivory coast, Cameron, Togo migrate to nigeria !

Not OP but my spouse and I have the same score - 471 - does anyone here have any estimates of the possible cutoffs for the next couple of rounds? We have maxed out our IELTS. Not sure there is anything else we can do to get more points and the anxiety is really getting to us.
