its super common rn. a lot of people are taking and retaking IELTS. Its just a long queue and wait to get your chance.

Why such a long wait?

That's a great question. I am from Trinidad, and only 1 testing center. I asked to get an earlier sitting, but haven't heard anything as yet. I am guessing it's probably due to the amount of Venezuelans trying to earn a living and that's why it's booked up .Even when I was registering less than a week ago, it was 18% availability at that time. My profile expires on the 17th of Nov, therefore if I don't get an ITA by then, I know that I would do very well in the exam, and when I create a new profile, I would have a better CRS.
