United States
they should also remove the certification discrimination too. Someone with bachelors and masters done from outside of Canada has the same chance of securing a job in Canada, in short Masters applicants doesn't give Canada any bigger advantages that a Bachelors wouldn't or cannot give.

My theory is a little different concerning age. I believe it is perfectly fine for CIC to allocate lesser marks for the different age slots, having said that they should also add more points to a person having more experience. In that way, an aged person even if he is losing points in age would be able to compensate it with his experience. I believe in reality, Experience will add more human capital attribute to Canada than having an overseas Masters.

If they can add the above proposition in their system it will be more advanced and more fruitful for them.
I totally agree that experience would always help. But the thing is, it's way easier to fake your experience than show a fake degree. Something I have noticed here in the US where I've had people with fake resumes show up and struggle with the 101 stuff. Currently, you just need a reference letter for your experience and not some WES like certification that we do for our degrees, which shouldn't be a problem if you can get a notarized one from your colleague.

not nominated yet but hope to get it soon.. hence getting docs in order
I read somewhere that upfront medical cannot be conducted without ITA.. is it true?
It depends on the doctor. I was able to, but others require ITA to conduct medical exam. Call the doctor you plan on doing medicals at and ask :)

Cic should remove age discrimination first. Absolutely criminal that a 40 yr old has no chance right now even with masters, perfect ielts and 15 yr exp.
But you will also have to consider from a Canadian employer’s perspective.
Would you rather hire someone who is younger that has the equivalent education background or a person who is 40. Yea you can argue you have 10 year so more experience, but are you willing to take on a junior post? Moreover, immigration has always been a way to attract younger forces who can bring longer term economic development to the country. In just 20 years, you are almost at retirement age. Whereas those 10-15 years younger can have 10-15 years more to contribute. Getting ITA is just the beginning, age is a big factor when it comes to employment.

i would think so because ita is required for them to process you (one of the docs to bring along with you), i am guessing they also use the ita number to upload the results.. But all in all, medicals is a small little thing only. There is much more hustle and uncertainty with pcc and finalizing work exp docs, translations.

Is there any way the draws will touch say 434 by September/October end . Its becoming agonising to see that they have'nt touched the late 430's yet and we have crossed the mid year

It’s next to impossible because of number of candidates in the pool. Try to increase your score atleast to 438 which can give you hopes for score falling to that by September.

There are high chances of score falling to 438 today but after two weeks again there will be rise because of two ielts results.

If you are in no hurry, you can wait few draws to see how the trend follows. A suitable option would be to go for PNP in your case.

Good luck!

Sorry for being painfully realistic, but not likely. Simply due to the number of new applicants entering the pool in the 440+ range. Its much higher than last year.

You trying to be funny or something? I just checked the PNP section and there are few who reported receiving nomination but in no way there are lots of them in recent weeks from Ontario. Also in the ONIP website the no is still same like before. You talking about some other source?

OINP is processing applications from previous NOIs and starting to give nominations is what I was trying to say

This is their normal day to day operations and they are always issuing nomination from time to time. But where did you see a sudden surge in nomination that made you say 600+ coming for this draw?

But that happens all the time. Every draw there's 300-400 with nominations. Do you have a reason to believe it has increased? Maybe you're suffering from Baader-Mainhof phenonemon, where you see things more because you're aware of them ;)
