Hi everyone and a happy new year!
Some scars on the ray of hope..I just thought I'll give some tips as a post ITA stage person
1. It's important that everyone understands that this is a forum...which basically means that one can receive a lot of guidance and unbiased advice but it's not a gospel. While I've found Abhishek's estimates to be reasonably accurate, it's not official and needs to considered as such. Complaining against people here is like shouting to the internet.
2. Keep focus on things you control..I received my ITA on Dec 6th and yet to register. If you are ready with your documents, you can save several weeks. You may even consider scheduling your visa medicals and then cancel in case draw doesn't happen.
3. While patience is a premium, the long term impact is literally a few weeks or months. Considering that it's big change, things need to be taken in perspective. One query raised by CIC means you lost unplanned weeks in your application.
4. The really difficult part is resettling there and getting life sorted again. I've been annoyed by my consultants delaying by a couple of weeks, but priority is still to get and job and settle there....this application and PR is just like getting an entry ticket. The real fight starts later.
5. Most importantly, everyone is human and it's understandable that emotions are swaying. There is no place to rant since usually no one else knows and with the queries from close ones, pressure keeps building. It's important that we continue to help and guide without judging or being rude.
Best of luck to everyone, let's meet in Canada in 2018
