I have a feeling that we might see the 81st draw on 27th Dec.

Buddy its holiday time and people in CIC office deserve break for Christmas and New Year... IMO >> This was the last draw of 2017.
I expect 3 draws in Jan 2018.

I would suggest you to wait for another couple of draws before you think about re-taking IELTS.

Decembers 2016 & 2017 were the same too. The last draws was at around this time of the month that left us a 3-week gap draw. 99% chance of back-to-back draw in January 2018 to follow CIC's year-end trend
