can you explain what the tie breaking rule means?

Came to know about the draw just now through you guys! I was at 469. Although i was in the pool since 26 October 2017, nevertheless the wait was long, almost 5 months for just transcript and wes report! Congrats to others who will receive an ITA in a few hours and those who did not please do not lose hope and all the best

can anybody please explain the tie breaking rule thing?

let's say you have 435 points. and CRS calculates and finds that there are 2000 candidates with that score and decided to invite 2000 candidates with cutoff of 435 points. If you are the 2001 candidate, you will not get it. Chances are really slim that you have uploaded your profile after they calculated, but that is still a chance. If you are above 435, this means you are at the minimum 1999th candidate

it can take up to 24 hours, be patient.

too difficult. now my question is, does it take 24 hours for everybody? or just for the ones who are really desperate like me who feels murphy's law is in progress.

For me it was about two hours, some it was the next day. Relax, you still have a loooong road ahead of you :)

ooh ok I get it now.

But now tell me this. I am above 1 point of the cut-off, that means I do not belong to that tie breaking rule, however, my doubt is: to go to the minimum points, in this case 458, can I assume that they sent ITAs to everybody above that mark, in my case 459? I know assumptions are relatives in this case, CIC is unpredictable, but let's say in terms of probabilities.

hahaha.. relax buddy! the system has to send 2000 invites. It should make changes to EE profiles, generate PDF for each and generate an email. Not every server is as fast as Facebook or Google's

@darkmago, assuming you and I both have 458 CRS points, it means we're are qualified for ITA based on today's draw. However, only 2000 ITAs will be issued so the system will consider us on first come, first served basis. In that case, since I created my Express Exntry profile on June 17, 2017 and yours was created on say June 18, 2017, I'll receive an ITA in this draw while you'll remain in the pool hoping for the next draw. Is it clear now?
