Correct, it will be a minimum of 300k, possibly more, but to be decided next week. We need to hold tight and pray for a nice increase soon:300K is the baseline, not the number for 2018, so that's for sure it is going to stay at 300K if not more. Even then, CRS will come down anyway and significantly, in 2017, CRS started to drop from above 450 and hit 413, it is already in 430s right now, just do the simple math and think about it.. it might hit the rock bottom pretty soon.. I personally believe it will be way too low than 413 even at 300K.. anything above is cherry on the cake.
Canada's immigration minister says Canada will welcome at least as many immigrants next year as it is in 2017.
The government's plan for annual immigration levels, which was set at 300,000 for this year, is expected to be tabled in the House of Commons next week.
Immigration minister Ahmed Hussen told The House that the government will not go below that level next year.
"Three hundred thousand is now our new normal," he said, while not closing the door to a higher number for 2018.
