Oh wow, you're in London? Are you British? UK was actually my first choice for immigration because I wanted to move to London, but I decided on Canada at the end of March after the UK had had 3 terrorist attacks in under 3 months.

I'm not British but yea I'm in London. I do have ILR but didn't give up my Indian citizenship yet. London is not fascinating anymore as it used to be couple of years ago. However, job market is far better than Canada.

I've always wanted to settle down in Canada, so I'm in pursuit of my dreams these days.

Terrorist attacks are way too frequent these days and nobody is feeling safe anymore. London is on critical alert and I was reading an article about another imminent attack in future.

I think that should be the correct one. My friend texted me about one in Vancouver on September 30, October 28 in Toronto and October 14 in Calgary. I'm not so sure about his sources though whilst I'm trying to reach him as we speak.

Another reason I chose Canada is because you have to live and work in the UK for 5 years before you can apply for ILR, but if things go smoothly, we can get Canadian permanent residence in about a year from outside of Canada. And who knows what will happen with the UK immigration process with the Brexit situation.

London is fascinating to me, and I have friends there and like the overcast and rainy weather. But New York used to be very fascinating to me and no longer is anymore, so I can understand what you mean. I was getting more job leads in my London job search, but perhaps it is just for those without work authorization that the job market in Canada is worse? Some friends I have who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents have told me that it shouldn't take us long to find an IT job once we're in Canada with permanent residence, but they also warned me that it is almost impossible to find a job when you are outside Canada and in need of visa sponsorship.

You're right about staying for 5 years before you can apply for ILR. I applied after 5 years of my landing and got it within 2 months.

I'm not sure why they are saying it is impossible to find a job when you're outside of Canada. I already have a permanent full time job offer from a Canadian Employer. My LMIA is under process.

It is fairly easy provided your stars are aligned correctly.

I'd say I was extremely lucky when I was contacted by them asking about my interests to grab an opportunity with them and move to Canada.

I believe small companies would be apprehensive of pursing work permits of non Canadian residents but big brands shouldn't be.

I applied directly at the employer's website. They contacted me a month later, I guess. My LMIA was filed last month and I was informed it would take 2 months to get processed. Let's see if service Canada can approve it soon as I'm supposedly falling in high wage worker category and the employer is also well established IT brand, headquartered in Canada itself.

I'd say keep trying and I'm sure you'll find something. I can refer you to my employer provided you want to settle down in Quebec and give up your Express entry dreams for a while or get OINP when it reopens, land in Canada as permanent resident and then you're a free bird to move anywhere

PNP doesn't obligate you to work and stay in respective province. However, you should at least get your PR card and Social Insurance number from the province that nominated you.

I'm not even pursuing express entry now solely for this reason alone but I'm still hoping to get an ITA before my LMIA so I can cut through a short window and submit my e-APR quickly.

I am sure most of you have seen the Teletubbies animated for kids by the BBC..It was my favourite.. I still continue watch it on the YouTube channel.And out of the 4 characters..
lala was my favourite and she was in complete sync with my personality ..being notorious and cuteeeeeeee...and so I preferred to keep my lil buddy lala petty much alive by keeping her as my userid....

I'd say keep trying and I'm sure you'll find something. I can refer you to my employer provided you want to settle down in Quebec and give up your Express entry dreams for a while or get OINP when it reopens, land in Canada as permanent resident and then you're a free bird to move anywhere

PNP doesn't obligate you to work and stay in respective province. However, you should at least get your PR card and Social Insurance number from the province that nominated you.

I'm not even pursuing express entry now solely for this reason alone but I'm still hoping to get an ITA before my LMIA so I can cut through a short window and submit my e-APR quickly.

Ah, will your new job be in Montreal? Thanks for the offer, but I am still a struggling beginner in French, so I would not qualify for immigration to Quebec. One of my Canadian friends did recommend Montreal highly and said it's not necessary to know French when you are working in IT, but from a quick glance at the Quebec points system, I would lose a ton of points for lack of French proficiency that I couldn't make up for anywhere else. And I still really want to be in Toronto.

And I still really want to be in Toronto.

I don't know French either and it is not at all necessary for Regular Skilled Worker stream. I wanted to be in Toronto or Vancouver myself but I guess Montreal it will be for a while.
