Since we are heading to same province, we sure will meet. Now that you have mentioned University of Waterloo, it is even bigger confirmation that we could meet. My brother-in-law is enrolled at UoW for his PhD. It sure is a prestigious university, however, like you said, competition is really stiff to get in there. Even my brother had difficulty to get in after completing his Mphil from the same university cos of limited seat for the Arts faculty. Thankfully he got in and will start his research in about month time. I would like to wish you all the best and get enrolled as well. You will definitely see the difference between having a PR and Study visa as the latter one is far restrictive on top of paying exorbitant fee compared to domestic fee. All the best for tonight's draw :)

Yes we are gonna meet :D

Congrats for your Brother-in-law :)

Thanks for the wishes mate :)

Hello!!!!ive been away for a while waa preparing myself for ilets on the 29th july!!!i was quite confident that i will do good this time but i guess it wasnt my day...dont know wat went wrong....mayb i was in stress..anyway am glad to know that u did quite well in the test and i wil pray tht u get clb 9!!!!
Hey dear :) Thanks a lot. I was thinking of you and your test. I am sorry to learn that your test didn't go as planned. And no, my test didn't go too well either. Although i am very hopeful but not confident enough i will make it this time again. Listening and Reading was easy, but i got excited, stressed and finally my nerve took over and i cocked up Reading from 36-40 where i made 4 mistakes and 1 question i had to select blindly cos i ran out of time. So i have to score at least 34 out of 35 now. Writing part 2 also went wayward. Lets hope we both will make it. But i am already preparing my mind for another IELTS on 9th Sept if i don't make it this time. With uncertainty hanging over the re-opening of OINP, and in December i will also loose 5 points taking my CRS below 400, i am trying to prepare for the worst case scenario. But lets wait until Aug 11 :)

Congrats! Your ITA is on the way!
Hi,

I am in trouble with my EE profile that I submitted already including my wife with CRS 425(without wife's ECA and IELTS).
Now I am planning to create a new profile without my wife while she is staying with me in Montreal.

Please advise me.

Thank you for your time.

This articles says a lot without saying anything at all.

Also in saying, "the increase in the number of skilled worker visas offered by Canada is majorly owing to the fact that the CRS threshold for immigrant applicants in the Express entry pool has been decreased in the last 6 months," it confuses cause with effect. The CRS threshold has dropped due to the issuance of many ITAs and not the other way around.

I wouldn't read too much into these articles posted by immigration agents. They are just looking to secure clients...

Agreed with you, man. There was an inherent flaw with the logic/reasoning of that paragraph.

Yes. As you might guess from my username, the election of Donald Trump made me immediately decide to emigrate from the US. Before that, I never even considered leaving, as the US is the only home I know. After some thought and research, I decided at the end of March that Canada would be the best place for me long term because it is most compatible with my ideology overall. I want to be in a country that celebrates diversity, and I also think affordable healthcare should be available for everyone, not just those who work at desk jobs at big corporations as is the case here in the US. I am a young, free spirit at heart, and I like to travel and experience new cultures. Emotionally I'm just about 20, except I have been about 20 for 20+ years.

Long term, I would like to focus on my side businesses and on my artistic and athletic endeavors that are my passions. I think Canada is a better place for entrepreneurs and those who want to follow a nontraditional path (i.e., not work long hours at an employee desk job all your life).

Finally, I want to experience the Canadian system first hand and become Canadian while I am an activist for the US from abroad. I think I would have more credibility as an American and naturalized Canadian when I push for the US to adopt the more effective elements of the Canadian system. The election of Trump over here reflects some deep problems in this country that will take a lot of time to improve, and I want to become a more effective activist for reform.
I absolutely love your attitude. Young, wild and free in heart but mature when needed ;)

I took the IELTS too on 29th July, did your Listening section contain a map with the hotel names in Section 2? I messed up atleast 2 there I think :( . Reading was not too bad for me, I had the one with the Kuala Lampur Railway Station as the last paragraph, am not sure about the multiple choice questions in that. I think my Writing and Speaking went okay, fingers crossed for Listening and Reading. Good luck to you as well.

http://www.timhortons.com/

There are a number of Tim Horton's restaurants in western upstate New York close to the Canada border. I had forgotten that it's actually a Canadian chain. The food is ok, more of a good place to get together to eat with friends. We all should meet up at a Tim Horton's next year when we're in Canada. I still have $5 in Tim Horton's gift certificates from when I lived upstate. I'll have to check if they can be used in Canada.
I believe it is now owned by the American fast-food giant Burger King. However, the values and culture followed by the company is still Canadian. My sister keeps mentioning about Tim Horton's during our conversation, jealous lol

Ha ha. I'm sober! I've only been on here once when slightly drunk. Not all Irish are alcoholics. Me and my honorary Irish buddy @KingKurly aren't - but we are working on it, promise!
I can vouch for that! Not everybody, in fact people are too aware these days about excess drinking in Ireland. However, no matter drunk or sober, great fun and plenty of laugh to be around Irish people. Shaun can do with his typing, imagine what it would be like having him around hahahaha.
