If someone asks for directions, you don't respond by telling her/him that he/she can use Google Maps on her/his phone.
It is common to see some forum members respond to questions with "google it".
Every time I tried to respond with helpful answers, I learnt a lot more about it. Some questions require research to answer, which again supplements your own information in the process of assisting someone else. It's a win-win situation!!
BTW, I often offer to show people how to use Google Maps on their phone when they ask me for directions
