Other than having a profile in the Express Entry pool with score of 400+ do we need to do anything to get a provincial nomination?

How do u peeps have time to count the words or it is just an estimate of words on a row multiplied by nos of rows?

Wrote essay first, counted the words then moved to the letter part. It doesn't take more than 2 minutes, very helpful for those who don't do too many writing practice tests like me.

Does anyone know whether it is mandatory to update the section under Research in the CIC profile?

Because of this new sub section under Work History, the Work History section is showing up as "In-Progress".

I have updated the details (its a research questionaire and it is mentioned below that it does not affect my chances of getting picked). But I reverted the changes because what if my profile goes into submitted but waiting for verification stage and the a new draw happens and I lose out on the opportunity because my profile was in the inactive stage at that time.

Like you I had my doubts too about updating the Research section. But I did it last night and my profile went from "Updated" to "Submitted" within a few minutes. Good luck.

Got the soft copy of spouse's ECA report. Updated the profile. Score should jump to 410.
Hoping that the cutoff touches or comes below 410 in the next draw. (fingers crossed).

Here's what I did.
Downloaded sample answer sheets for writing tests and practised writing on those sheets. Calculated the average number of words per page during the practice tests so that I wouldn't have to count the words in the actual test instead have an intuitive word count from the page count.

Here are the links to download the sample answer sheets

Task 2 https://www.ielts.org/-/media/pdfs/general-writing-answer-sheet-task-2.ashx?la=en

Good luck for the test.
