Congrats. I'm retaking the test in 10 days hoping to improve my Listening score. Fingers crossed.
hi..
http://ieltsonlinetests.com/catalogue
you may already be aware of these...but there are some recent tests updated also...I found the listening very tough...
practice the recent tests and as many from the recent ones (12/11/10) so that ur alertness may improve to be sharper...
if u scored 8 in writing u must be very good...so I suggest practicing listening as in listening u don't have the option of pausing and thinking about an answer as the conversation will move on...the only way to score is being extremely alert...
and avoiding silly mistakes..
while doing above practice I understood that writing 4.50 where the conversation said 4.5 is incorrect...(price of a ticket was context) and birth 'day' 29th April was correct and 29th April 1984 wrong (that would be birth date) ...post code number 'no.17456' was incorrect and 17456 was correct...
and years someone worked in Africa '1990-1992' was correct and '1990 to 1992' was incorrect (I was supposed to use only either two words or numbers, but I got confused abt how to write..19901992o_O...I did 1990 to 1992 thinking 'to' wont be counted as a word of answer...
so,increase ur alertness, pay attention to details and all the best...:)
you might check my inputs if interested

i am at 405 if i had that .5 more in writing i would have at 462, may be i want to rush thru this process, i don't know about re-writing last time i was short by .5 in listening and this time writing,
may be i would just wait till CRS score reaches to us rather we reaching to CRS
but if you can afford, give IELTS another try too in the meantime...all you lose is12000/- ...and with better practice fine-tune all skills again ....it may do help if you secure CLB9 in getting better jobs as well (may be...) post landing...

If u r not keen on taking the exam again, try revaluation, speaking and writing generally have scope of improvement if it is .5

no buddy still in india, terribly disappointed
Don't be disappointed buddy, even I gave IELTS 3 times before getting CLB9 only in 3rd attempt. Prepare well and give it another shot. You are down but not out yet! We have to cross these small hurdles to reach the ultimate aim and dream of PR. all the best!

Our attorney said that "the clock keeps ticking" between receiving the ITA and the submission of the application, meaning that one can lose eligibility, etc. in that time. Once the application is submitted everything is frozen. So, if this is the case, you should be ready to submit everything for your application before your IELTS score expires.
That is absolutely correct. Once you get your ITA and submit all the necessary documents that provides for the claim of points and you get the e-APR, points are locked. No need to worry after that.
